Hi,
We are flying into Dubrovnik on The 1st June. We have accommodation booked until the 4th and then fly out of Split on the 13th June.
We would love to travel up to Split stopping at Hvar, Vis and Brac if we have time. We have noticed the ferries are often very early in the morning and if we are staying in a nice Hotel on Hvar dont really want to get up at the crack of dawn, are there any other options for travel?
We currently have nothing booked after Dubrovnik, so any route suggestions or ideas would be extremely appreciated. Thanks, Jack & Soph.

Thanks for the reply.
We have had a better look at ferry time tables which look ok, but are now trying to work out the best way of getting from Dubrovnik to Hvar on the 4th June? We will not have a car.
If we choose to go to Drvenik and then get the ferry it looks like busses from Sucuraj to Hvar town are a bit of a mystery? Is it better to go straight to Split and get the ferry from there?

bus from Dubrovnik to Split (4 hours) and then the catamaran to Hvar town (2hrs approx)??
My suggestion though is to get a car as public transport will only take you so far and you'll spend a lot of unnecessary time waiting.

I'd advise that it's better to travel from Dubrovnik to Split and then get the catamaran from there. There's numerous buses per day from Dubrovnik to Split (although, obviously, you'd have to get one in time to get the catamaran on to Hvar...assuming you're doing all of this in one day) and you can look up timetables on www.ak-split.hr/. It's only an hour from Split to Hvar by catamaran, and two a day - at 3pm ( www.jadrolinija.hr/pdfs/9604.2013.ljeto.e.pdf) and 5pm ( www.krilo.hr/en/sailing_schedule.html). The return back from Hvar to Split *is* early in the morning, yes... If you did hire a car, then sure, you could get onto Hvar by getting the car ferry from Drvenik. However, if you're not too keen, then the above honestly isn't all that bad a journey at all. From Hvar, it would probably be easiest to join an organised excursion if you wanted to visit Vis. To Brac, well...you could transfer to Jelsa from Hvar town to get a catamaran to Bol (and then return to Split from here), but again, this is a very early morning catamaran so you'd have to get here the previous night. Just to mention that there's also the Jadrolinija coastal ferry ( www.jadrolinija.hr/pdfs/COASTAL%20LINE%202013.pdf) that goes from Dubrovnik to (Stari Grad on) Hvar, but it only operates twice a week.

you can also hopp to the beautiful Island of Korcula to stay theref for 1 or 2 nights. From there you have daily katamaran service to Split with stop in Hvar City and return. it starts early in the morning from Korcula and from Split returns in the evening. you arrive hvar at 9 a.m. and 1/2 hour later it departs to Split. It is not really early I do not remember the prices, but it was quiet cheap.
