Hi everyone, it's been a LONG time between posts.
This may be a bit lengthy, but bare with me š
In 2010 we made the decision to live part time in Croatia.
In 2012 we shipped all our belongings over and got the ball rolling.
In 2014, 3 weeks before returning to Croatia (from Australia) Mick was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymhpoma.
EVERYTHING WAS PUT ON HOLD while he went through some pretty gruelling treatment & chemo.
2015 he was in remission and we finally made it back to Cro.
Unfortunately, 5 months later, while still in Croatia, Mick relapsed and we immediately returned to Australia where he was back to chemo and stem cell transplant.
2016 he was in remission again & planning our return to Croatia - he relapsed once more š¢
Now 2017, more chemo and he is waiting for a life saving bone marrow donor.
Being Croatian, his genetic and ethnic make up is hard to match.
So I'm putting out there to urge anyone with Croatian heritage to consider registering their bone marrow on the world wide register, and/or getting the word out there.
We are currently living in a Leukaemia Village in Brisbane, with many others also waiting for a suitable donor.
Please find below, relevant information on how to go about donating blood/stemcells
Thanks for taking the time to read, and fingers crossed, someone will be his match.
Cheers ~ Deb ā¤
