Hello I have owned an old semi detached house in Istria near Motovun, Croatia for a few years now and so far we have only changed the roof. We are now planning to start renovation work inside the house, change the floorboards and point stones etc but we are also going to change the existing old windows to new pic wood look and put in a septi tank and connect to the electricity. Does anyone know if we need to apply for planning permission for any of these changes. Im thinking mainly of the septic tank but also the windows. And seem to find any information about this.
Anyone who has experience of renovating under the new 2014 laws?
Appreciate your help!

www.ruralpropertycroatia.comMay I rephrase the question? Do you have a fully legal 'object' which is shown on the katastral drawings and who's dimensions are as drawn? If yes, then you can make any decorative changes you wish as long as you don't (a) Change the use of the building, or (b) go a single centimetre beyond the borders of the footprint of the structure as shown in the katastral register. 99% of the time, the problem doesn't come from the kind of work you are doing but from the registration details of what you own. Mostly, this arises when previous owners have already expanded the building somewhat but without permission to do so. That, or people claiming "we don't need legalisation because the original building is very old".
