"The Greeks are gods in bed but the stressed out Japanese hardly ever get down to it.
The world's biggest sex survey has found that Greeks have sex an average of 138 times a year.
Banging at the door are the Croats and Serbs at 134 and 128 times a year.
And in a devastating blow to British morale, the French are at it 120 times - leaving the Brits trailing in eighth place at 118 bonks a year.
In the relegation zone in the sex league table are the Japanese.
A hectic lifestyle and an ever-present pressure to succeed in work means they only manage it 45 times a year.
In a surprising result, the Swedes only weigh in at 33 in the 41-country league table.
In a land of saunas, .,.,.,.,.,.,.ography and blonde bombshells, Swedes only get a bit of action 92 times a year.
Those from Iceland are having sex the earliest, losing their virginity at the average age of 15 .
Turks have the most sexual partners, 14.5 being the average.
Aussies and Kiwis average 13.3 and Britons 9.8.
The survey, carried out by condom makers Durex, found that lovers in Belgium and Poland are most happy with their love lives while the Chinese and Japanese are the most dissatisfied."
is this true? Sensible replies only!

Or they are liars who are "bahati".
Seeing as most Croatians live at home until they are in their mid-30s there must be special places for them to copulate.
I dont see any bangers in the park, or by the roadside, oh I got it, its at the football stadium and its a Greek male bonding festival!

Or even better - the survey shows how much they would like to have sex.
I'd like to see the Durex sales figures per capita and compare it to the UK and then we'll see who is the horniest!

given the proclivity for Greeks and Turks to enjoy both sides of the fence, it's hardly surprising, and the next on the list being countries they'd both formerly governed/terrorised, hmm, the latent homosexuality in Croatia is a little worrying, but hey, didn't the Macedonians and Greeks run all teh way to India, and the Turks gave us kebabs, so it must not be that destructive.

I'd like to see the Durex sales figures per capita and compare it to the UK and then we'll see who is the horniest! That wouldn't be revealing either, since most women are on the pill and few people here use condoms because the HIV/AIDS risk is very low, so they don't even think of it, nor do they bother. Irresponsible? – Da, but it's true none the less. Oh and there are parks in Zagreb that are notorious for all kinds of sexual activities being performed there, even in the city centre. The police were quite busy several years ago when they stumbled upon an orgy in one of those parks on Zrinjevac.

brightside I think you might have been reading stats wrong, AIDS/VIV and STD's are higher in Croatia (statistically) than neighbouring countries and many young girls who eventually report to clinics have been chastised for not taking better precautions. Oddly enough the birth rate is falling in Croatia yet the age of sexual activity drops, but it is frightening how little is spoken about despite Croatia being one of the most sexually ovedone countries. I mean, we shook off the priests (literally) 20 years ago and Ireland is still fairly self-respecting, but the overt and crass over-sexuality from billboards and magazines in Croatia is staggering. Has anyone noticed those with the young lady on all fours promoting a certain digi-box (pardon the pun), to think there was kerfuffle in Ireland ove Eva Herzigova's overhangs. :-)

LOL Irac, when my husband first started coming to Croatia about 10 years back, I remeber his shock at seeing a poster of man in woman's underwear plastered all over Zagreb (I don't remeber any more what it was advertising). Looks like things haven't changed much since then.

it pales in comparison to what it was like during jugo. you know the qiosks(spelling off) that are everywhere selling newspapers and such? Imagine hardcore .,.,.,.,.,.,. mags right up on the glass. I remember it from when i was a kid. I actually bought my first dirty mag in Croatia from kiosk near the bus station in Rijeka. Hahaha.
Anyways, my point is that it has got better. You guys from UK are more repressed than alot of other europeans are from countries such as croatia, serbia, germany, italy and spain. Other cultures are much more passionate than ours. Alot of this stems from the language. English isn't the ugliest language around by any means but it isn't as beautiful to hear as croatian or spanish and italain. America is very repressed sexually.
On one hand, sexy advertizing sends a bad message to young people, on the other, alot of people like it. I'm not a big fan of advertizing at all. Its a dirty multi million dollar business. They pay psychologists millions a year to figure out just how to reach your and your kids subconcious to sell you products. Unfortunately, we have more important things to worry about then half naked women in compromising positions. Relative to the problems facing society, sexy advertizing is low on the list of problems that need to be solved. .

Irac, I won't get into STIs (problem everywhere, and using condoms unfortunately has little to do with it anyway), I just mentioned HIV/AIDS cos I know that it doesn't even cross people's minds that they might get it. And the chances still are slim. Last year, there were two reported cases of people getting HIV, and both through blood transfusion (imported blood). When you look at the overall reported number of people who have HIV, and those who have developed AIDS, it's not surprising that people don't take it seriously enough. "171 AIDS cases reported between 1986 and 2000, of which 101 have died. The reported incidence of AIDS is between 1.5 and 3.7 cases per million." "infection has been required outside the country in the majority of cases." Overview of HIV/AIDS in SE Europe (data by UNAIDS, UNICEF, HIV/AIDS Register at the Croatian National IPH taken from the University Hospital of Infectious Diseases in Zagreb), www.sslaoneworld.net, page 64. Btw, take a look at the ads advertising that new magazine "Covjek". A couple having sex, and you can see their organs while they're doing it... OK, the organs are a coloured drawing, but still. It's pretty picturesque.

I think you mean GEO magazine. They're passing off a soft .,.,.,.,.,.,. image as a scientific illustration in order to attract their initial customers. It's very over priced. I know the ads irac is talking about also, the same company had 1 with a woman on all fours in bondage gear licking a cd burner. I think the caption was just 'HOT'. Pretty lame marketing if you ask me. When i first came to croatia in 2001 there was this great Jumbo ad for a brand of crisps 'Chipsy' , it featured a naked woman of gypsy appearance with only a 'Y' line of chips covering her breasts and down to you know where. I found it very amusing. Must of been aimed at truck drivers .

Gav, you were right, it's GEO. The ad obviously didn't do it for me, they might as well be selling light bulbs. And when you think that the French banned Tom Ford's billboards promoting Yves Saint Laurent's Opium some 2 years ago! Apparently, the ad showing a naked actress was the reason why there had been a growing number of accidents on the streets of Paris (?! ... n'importe quoi!). The ad was a bit provocative, but not THAT provocative (you couldn't see a thing, really).
