I had my second baby in Belgium 7 months ago, stayed in a double room (alone for the first two days) and the other girl had visitors from 9 am till 8 pm almost non stop the fist day (she had given birth at 11 pm the night before...). It was pathetic... (they apologised to me...) Visitors were supposedly only allowed from 2 to 7 pm... At the Karlovac maternity, no "civilians" in the maternity ward, only short visits allowed in a room at the entrance, and a nurse would bring the baby for a minute to show her off and that was it... Comparing the two... I must say having visitors all the time is no fun at all, but the no-visitor rule in Karlovac was a bit too much, too. Somewhere in the middle is good Karlovac allows one person to accompany during birth. My DH was there for about five minutes before he almost fainted, so he left, lol! Petrovo allows it too but it has to be "prearranged" apparently.

Hi there Sorry I have not been on here for a long time......but I just wanted to say that I did have my second baby at Podobnik hospital (2 years ago) and it was really great! The staff are so friendly, professional and caring. You have your own room with a bathroom which is very comfortable and you can have visitors when ever you like during the day. Your husband can even stay for dinner! I think all up it was €2500 but it was worth it and in comparison to private hospitals elsewhere it is reasonable. They are also very accommodating with any special requests or if you want and epidural etc. I have a couple of friends who also highly recommend Podobnik.

You posted the same link in multiple threads (which doesn't indicate that you're trying to pass on useful info, but that you're spamming); you posted the link with specific anchor text (indicating a lazy way of trying to get some SEO benefit); you've now set up another forum account to post a question so you can answer yourself…with this same link. Belgian? Huh...

Hi, has anyone had any experiences with giving birth in Pula? I speak little Croatian, know the doctor and she is great, but I have no idea about staff, procedures or facilities. Some recommended giving birth in Rijeka or even Trieste (I live in Istria with my husband) but Pula hospital is the closest. Thanks for answers in advance!

I highly recommend getting in touch with Daniela Dran on Facebook. She is a leader in the pregnancy and birth world for Croatia with the organization RODA. Plus she is a native English speaker.

Firstly, congratulations and best of luck. Have a look at Rijeka which is where we had our two - it has a very good reputation, and the staff are great. They also do water births. cheers Paul I gave birth to baby daughter in Rijeka hospital in autumn 2018. The experience was positive on all levels - staff professionalism, sensitivity, English, care, individual room for the next 2 days offered. I think it exceeded my expectation in terms of care level. I had all the baby contact and closeness and felt respected along the way. Also later, I received a fantastic attention from nurses coming to our home in Istria as a part of public health system. I can recommend Rijeka hospital, I would go there again if I ever need it.
