Hello I have been asked to organise our veterans football tour in April / May 2013 and we are thinking of coming to Split. We are a social club with some very old pub footballers (mostly in our 40s and 50s) who mainly want to drink beer have fun and play a couple of football matches. We have been to many European cities in recent years but we always like to try new places. Any English or Irish pubs that have a veterans team would be great. Can anybody help? Thank you.

GlynnHi Glynn, you may be just the man ive been looking for. I have a group of lads coming to Hvar on the 12th september and i am looking for a friendly game of football. We are a decent standard most have played semi pro and are all in our late 20's. It would be great to have a game against some local guys and buy you a beer afterwards. Are there places in Hvar we could play or do we have to travel back to Split? i haven't been to croatia so not sure how quick the boats are etc. Please let me know. I would be very grateful. Happy to pay for ref etc

We are a football team based in Manchester, and will be coming over to Zadar at the end of August. We would like a weekend friendly, preferable 11-a-side with referee, but possibly 7 a side. If you know of any groups of guys that are of an average sort of standard like us, please get in touch. If you are British players that went on holiday and arranged a game, please pass on your contacts if you think it would be useful!

Looks like David is bringing over Utd for a summer tour- the average sort of standard gives it away On a serious note there are plenty local teams in Zadar area who I am sure you could set up a game with- most towns and villages in the County have teams. I will check out some of my local contacts for you- do you have definite dates yet?

Haha, we're all United fans looking to escape Liverpool & Man City banter for a weekend... Yes we are over the last wknd in August (Fri 29th - Mon 1st Sept). Local contacts would be fantastic! We're looking at the Saturday, hopefully looking to find a decent venue. Can I ask where abouts you are based? cheers

Hi Jonathon, Did you ever play that game in Zadar? We are looking to play a veterans game there next year and I wondered if you had made any useful contacts that you could share. Best regards

Following on from these various threads we too are seeking a vets tour to Croatia to wrap around a likely dismal performance from England in the 2016 Euros. We are awaiting the draw in Decemebr to ensure that we are away over a week-end that England will play but trying to line up suitable contacts so we can follow up once the draw has been made. Any assistance gratefully received - thanks Dave

Hi I have been asked to organise a friendly football match for our football tour to Split in April 2018, we are travelling on Friday 20th April - Monday 23rd. We are an amateur club with a mixture of young and old footballers (mostly in our 30s and 40s) who mainly want to drink beer, have fun and play a football match. We have been travelling to European cities annually since 1990. Any English / Irish pubs or local clubs that have a “friendly” team would be great.
Sorry it’s short notice. Can anybody help? Many thanks in advance.
