Hi,
this is a message for any english speaking mothers that may be reading who live in Zagreb and would like to meet.
I am a 38 year old British mother to a 5 month old and recently settled in Zagreb and would like to meet mums with babes of a similar age.
I´m a smiley soul with a warm heart, so am told, and appreciate the spiritual a little more than the material.
Please pm me if you would like to meet.
Thank you.

I know a place you'll get a lot more responses than here. Try over at the roda forum, it's specifically for mums, and dads too I guess. All sorts of useful info there as well. forum.roda.hr/forum.php

A few of the English kindergartens also hold events from time to time like Learning Tree, Horizon and maybe others. If your looking for party hire then check out www.partyking.com.hr (owner from UK).

Didn't know about that yahoo group. The roda site is good because it isn't in English. Makes you learn some of the language of the place where you live, and there are plenty of mums in Zagreb that speak english as their second or third language. You can hang out with mums and get free Croatian lessons.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this information. I understand baby group you mention is something of an ad hoc affair unfortunately, seeming to revolve aropund the diplomatic corp.
I like the sound of Roda and am keen to integrate as much as I can notwithstanding current paucity of my spoken croatian.
Thank you once again.

There is a weekly program called Sticky Fingers at the Maksimir Culture Center. It's in English and the attendees are a mix of foreign mums/local Croatian mums with their children anywhere from a few months to a few years. It's every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 in the big auditorium on your left as you enter the main door. Check with them if it's around a holiday to ensure it will be held. No registration required, come when you want, cost is 30kn and includes a hot drink and snacks at the end with social hour from 11:30-noon (or whenever you want to take off!). Songs, books, bubbles, little craft, highly recommended!

Hi Aless, if you would still like to meet with a mummy and a little girl somewhere around in Zagreb, please do let us know on rkk11411@yahoo.com as we are keen on visiting different parks and playgrounds all around the town My little girl understands English pretty well, and, I'm sure, would enjoy meeting someone speaking like Mr. Tumble. All the best!
