Can someone tell me how to register a lien on the island of Vir? I have invested money with my partner to do an addition but I have really nothing to show for it (other than commonlaw status). This is the vacation home and my name is not any where but we live inland in my house. Recently his daughter has shown an interested in buying half(there is an upper and lower apartment). I need to protect my interest. I know, rookie mistake to allow love to blind me. I have discovered there is a whole different attitude here and children always come before the wife or commonlaw. Thanks.

As far as l know, you and the registered owner enter into a formal agreement which is then notarised. This document is then used at the Gruntovnica to add a "tereta" to the land registry entry on the property concerned. Not a good position however in that you still have no rights regarding inheritance. Sorry, best l can do. www.ruralpropertycroatia.com
