Some 11,500 Pairs of Trainers Destroyed
Some 11,500 pairs of counterfeit trainers were destroyed in Kastela on Wednesday. The fakes had arrived from China on a boat that docked in Split. The trainers have been shredded in collaboration with the maker of the originals. HRT

What a waste of materials and the enviroment.
Why did they not give the shoes away to the poor...... There are many children walking around barefoot and these stupid idiots shredd the shoes... the shoes will sit in a landfill ...... this makes me so angry.

yeah. they shouldve given the shoes to the poor!!!! money does weird things to people. greed, jelousy!!!! well they wouldnt be selling fakes if there wasnt a demand for them!!! many people in croatia have to work atleast a week to buy an original pair of shoes. sanader should do something about our pays and about corruption, maybe then wed buy the originals. till then...im a walking commercial for ELVITON sports wear. haha

i guess the brand owners were protecting their brand. their traniners are probably no better than any one else's so they need to be deemed exclusive in order to get people to pay their inflated prices. If suddenly 11,500 people are walking around in what looks like identical trainers then the brand owners might have trouble persuading people that they are a luxury product. Agree though that is a shame to see them go to waste.

justapixel...sanader holds a very responsible position. he is personally responsible for most of the people you see these days with their heads in rubbish bins, looking for plastic bottles. he is personally responsible for corruption in croatia, because he has the power to stop it. he is personally responible for all the consequnces of corruption which effect croatias population in every day life. he is personally responsible for the sale of croatias coast. he is personally responsible for a legal system , which lets off people such as s linic and ruins the lives of so called "whistle blowers". he has leadership qualities but hes not doing much more than building roads, bridges, sports stadiums. it all looks good ...but from a citizens point of view...there are just more places to spend your money but no real ways to earn more of it. that just proves that the rich are well taken care of

Agree though that is a shame to see them go to waste. Donating them to the very poor... who have no clue what brand they are and who would not be likely to afford even the laces for the shoe.... say Darfur or some other verrry needy place where brand does not matter.... would not make a difference to the company. If the company was smart.... they would have used these shoes as free advertising of what a charitable & great company they are by telling the world of their generous donation of shoes to the very poor.

maybe if they just cut the labels off or something. You can understand that they want to protect their prestige brand but it is sad to think of the waste

Makes you laugh huh? ;D

He doesn't have that power, but the fact is he isn't even trying. If he did, he would have been a powerful ally in War Against Corruption. he is personally responsible for the sale of croatias coast. No he isn't. Any government would support it (and has), and so does 90% of this board. he is personally responsible for a legal system , which lets off people such as s linic and ruins the lives of so called "whistle blowers". He did much wrong there. He personally replaced Vesna Skare Ozbolt who surprisingly started to fight corruption valiantly and introduce reforms with Ana Lovrin who is a corrupted human joke. he has leadership qualities but hes not doing much more than building roads, bridges, sports stadiums. it all looks good ...but from a citizens point of view...there are just more places to spend your money but no real ways to earn more of it. that just proves that the rich are well taken care of He doesn't have any leadership qualities - he's a HDZ mannequin put there to make people trust them. He's not the one building roads, stadiums ;D He's the one who comes in front of the cameras when they're finished. I appreciate that coalition government has started and HDZ continued putting a lot of effort into growth of our roads infrastructure. I also don't appreciate much that they're putting so much money into sports objects instead of solving much more important problems. Actually I don't see a good solution how government could create "a place to earn money". You probably mean industry by that. They can't do much except offering tax incentives, fighting local corruption and simplifying paperwork and legal system. Now that I think of it, it's obvious they have done exactly nothing of the above. .
