I noticed in yesterday's Evening Standard an advert for an overseas property exhibition taking place this weekend - the newspaper claimed that it was one of the largest of its kind. I decided to investigate, together with my aide, Angelo. It seems that the overseas property market is very bouyant as there were about 70 stands, with most of them dealing with the usual places of Spain, France, Florida and so on. There were also two exhibitors covering Croatia, and one of them is the well-known Avatar International who had one of the largest stands there. Their stand was very nicely presented, with plenty of staff to help customers. I watched for a while, and it seems that the Croatian section was full of activity - there was a constant stream of enquiries for brochures and further information. (Avatar also have nice properties in Montenegro, Turkey, Bulgaria and Hungary.) Boss Amir was very busy, but had everything suitably under control. We had a brief chat with him, but did not want to hold him up and cause him to miss sales! He told us of some exciting new projects for his company in Croatia, including a beautiful and prestigious development on Korcula in which there is a great deal of interest - and he's already taken five reservations. There are also future plans for more similar developments elsewhere in Croatia. Avatar also have other properties for sale on their books. Here's Amir and Avatar International in action:
