Realistic Pole OK, I see where you are coming from now, [The general point was that the very idea of foreign people living in Croatia is becoming a political issue. There are lots of colorful politicians all across Europe and they do find a fertile ground for their divisive views here and there. The same politicians' views may be a source of deep embarassment to other people in the same country.] More a political comment on his views rather than a specific planning issue. Regards Culchie

If Cro ever joins the EU, it will always be that much harder for Serbia to try Annex croatia again, so in that light I would prefer if they joined and sold the land to foreigners

Hi,
While in Croatia last month I heard about this issue but it was the Dispora who made the point that property they had hoped to buy when they had saved enough was fast becoming a pipe dream. The prices they hoped to pay had since gone skywards along with their dreams.
Do these people have a say in Croatian politics? you bet they do.Should be interesting times ahead.

What's brilliant? Are you here in Croatia and have guaged, listened to public opinion? I repeat, what's brilliant? And, I fail to see what hell Malta has to do with anything. Croatia is Croatia. It, whatever it is, politically, may feel it needs the shield of Europe and 'hopes' for America to be there in case of emergencies. A tenuous thread by any stretch of the imagination. But, Croatia is still Croatia. And Croats are proud and are Croats. Read the history. It will go on, probably. In similar ways. Most of what I read on this thread is pie in the sky. Far removed from reality.

Global Housing bubble in certain markets. I cannot afford San Francisco and I am doing OK. When entry level is at least 7x for a very high income or 9x for median income, then its too high. SF, Sydney, London, NY to name a few........That is just the market......

So, has President Mesic been reading this thread? Saying anything more on this `useful to know' subject?

Doubt it. He's too busy drinking vino, if he has any sense. And playing the game, whenever necessary. The bubbles burst. They ride high...they burst. In UK, in USA...wherever. So it has been my experience. Cycles within cycles. In Croatia too...the cycle will reform. Good aint it? Painful, wonderful...good.
