Thanks for a brilliant website, have already found out masses of useful info. Does anyone know where we can buy kitchens, bathrooms, tiles and furniture in split? :-/Like more modern style. Also interested in marble flooring. We are actually renovating on brac, but presume split would be the best place to buy. If possible would like to look at brochures before we go over. Thanks, Penny.

I bought kitchen/bathroom/tiles from the large Brodomerkur in Split. They also have a small selection of furniture. The service when ordering the kitchen was very good - from design, delivery to Hvar, fitting, and replacing a scratched door. They have a small selection of Italian marble tiles.

If you're on Brac you should try Arneriæ and Carrera in Supetar. We has an Iitalian kitchen installed by Carrera last week - very good service. They also have a yard at Nerežišæa (10 km inland) with more stuff including tiles. Arneriæ has building supplies so could be OK for tiles. Miamark in Split is very upmarket. We bought reasonably stylish sofas (hard to find) at Oaza just where the road up from the split ferry meets the dubrovnic / split airport road. Meblo are OK as well. 'Total Split' is a sort of a yellow pages with detailed maps which makes it easy to find the shops. It's in croatian but has an English subject index at the back . On sale at all newspaper kiosks about 20 Ku
