In response to a question asked by Croatian MP Miroslav Rozic in Parliament, the Ministry of Interior revealed that in the first nine months of this year, out of 1,050 applications from foreigners wishing to own property in Croatia, 22 were accepted and 10 were rejected. The rest are still being processed.
Between the years 1996 to 2003, a total of 7,500 applications were made, with 3,105 being accepted and 514 rejected. This number may be considered to be extremely low, and no explanation has been given as to why.
However, it should be noted that some purchase property via the company owning route, which is not included in these figures.

I'm not very impressed with either the speed nor the number of applications approved by the Ministry of the Interior. It's really quite a problem for people like me waiting already 1.5 years!!! Stefan
