Hi all, my name is Dave Curtis and I'll be spending most of March in Croatia, travelling with a webmaster freind of mine. I am a glamour and scenic photographer and am looking for new places to work, and Croatia looks ideal.
We've looked at apartment rentals in various areas, and will probably do week rentals in a couple places, before heading up the Italian side and spending a few days in Venice, then back to Prague.
We're thinking of moving to Croatia and renting a place for a year or more, and so I'm curious about what it costs to rent and live on the coast.
I really like the Prague area, but do to overwhelming tourism, prices are starting to get pretty high, and rentals in the Malestrana area are getting a bit out of control. However, cost of living is still about half of what things cost at home in southern California, which is now the most expensive place to live in the USA.....
So, a general question for those of you who live full-time in Croatia: can you describe actual cost of living, including breakdowns for property, food, transportation etc?
As an example, Prague averages 800 euro for a good flat in center, transportation by tram is rediculously cheap, meals out cost average 4 to 7 euros for great food, pivo is amazingly cheap and good.....

I have excellent quality apartments on Ciovo which I would consider letting out on a long term basis. Have a look at my website www.embridge.co.uk. Jonathan
