There's plenty agents watching this site, so .....
What is Selling / not selling?
What areas are doing well / bad ?
Are prices increasing / not ?
How much per sq m in your area?
Any up and coming areas ?
Any other info, background you want to share with interested people?

Any up and coming areas ? Any other info, background you want to share with interested people? Good question. The islands appear to be where it's at. Someone is working well selling 'the islands' to the victims. And that is NOT a criticism. Extremely difficult to know what's happening. The Croat agents appear to be asking for so much money up front, it's enough to scare you off, if you are a foreigner, or even a Croat seller. The agent I used to BUY, tells me he's, phew, so busy, and... 'sold out', and this is the guy who got 3% as a buyers fee. (Easiest money he's ever earned in his life). Is he interested in selling for me at 10p profit? (I've spent a small fortune on the place). Well, he doesn't appear to be. How the hell do you sell your property? I have no idea...NONE! Do I really wasnt to sell? I don't know. My Croat wife would...tomorrow, and get the hell back to civilisation. England. To be honest I'm quite chilled here. Despite the food. It's a strange position to be in. Follow my threads, possibly you will see the conclusion of this impasse, eventually.

As somebody trying to buy a home in Cro, I feel like I'm jumping into shark infested waters. I've decided to do it myself and hang the agents.
Where to start looking now............

Funny,
If I had asked how would I find a property genuinely for sale, there would have been 15 or 20 agents offering properties by now.
Who's going to be the first agent out of the traps?

Culchie, sorry for your troubles ;D I asked our property guys what's the deals. Well, Dubrovnik is a disgrace, for the buyer, and now people are starting to look north. Brela seems to be becoming popular, and in Split there is a few people buying to rent.let, our guy on the ground there says that you'l be paying anywhere between 1,500-2,000 per m2, which is reasonable considering Dubrovnik is starting from 2,000 per m2 (close to the city) and is a pain in the thoin to rent all year round. Oh, and Trogir is growing fast, they just fixed up a link with an Irish agent on a new development. But the problem is, that despite all the "articles" is they can be called that, there is still the common misconception, or good judgement that it's all a rip-off and that its better, as Ribaric says to go to Bulgaria, or Turkey. And Spain is still the most attractive, as you'd know, for most Irish people.

Even more interesting, on this message board. Is that those who could respond, have refrained. From responding. Those who are...allegedly, professionals, are saying nothing. Which could well illustrate that these people could not lie straight in bed. If you walk in to Croatia, and buy. Something so godam cheap it makes your eyes water. A few months down the road, when you could well become disechanted with the prospect of a life eating juha, you could be faced with the problem. How do we unload. The answer? There isn't one. In the UK you walk in to an esate agent, and he does his pathetic best. Which is often quite good, in the booming UK market, and takes 1%. When the deal is finally and ultimately done. In Croatia? Mmmh. No such system. Are there any victims out there? Well, yes. Allegedly. I'd like to meet just one.

strange there als, I thought there was at least one response I don't know how you could be miserable in Sibenik, it's a rather nice town, with far nicer people and places than anywhere else along the coast and with a local government, or county one, that you can deal with (or at least who work). And there are resales, strangely people on the islands looking to get rid of properties, but they've all become scared selling within the 3 year time period and getting taxed to the hilt! Maybe you should give up the ould horology game and make a go at the auctioneering business (By the way, where is your premises, I've searched two times for it, but then again, I've gotten lost in my own hallway!)

I would have expected all the high flying property agents to offer a coment. Good luck to them if they are making money. Sibenik is okay, a few hundred square meters of it, for a two week holiday. The rest of it wants buldozing and redrawing. I would imagine the Croats think the same. Quite a few have offered up that opinion. Horology, premesis. Forget it. Premesis means punters through the door. The 'general public' . Had thirty odd years of them. That's longer than many people can keep breathing. Let alone hold ONE profession: one job. No more, ever. Punters are rubbish!

I understand about the punters through the door, I just thought you had a shop in the town, but anyway, I was just wondering who the "high flying" agents in Croatia are. From those I've met and dealt with they're all crying poor mouth, typical, and dealing in properties with papers as clean as an unwashed pigsty and doing "special deals" with the seller, ie sticking on another 10-20,000euros, at least, and splitting it with the seller, or pocketing the lot and not taking commission from the same, I though it rather corrupt, and the number of agents doing it is a massive surprise, but they've to live with their own consciences!

Then we both know the score. For sure. Concience. Interesting new topic. Much too deep I reckon. I have observed such phenominon for too many years. People are people. Money is money. Concience is a real weird one. I think it's possibly a word made up by the fearful man on his death bed. Sheet...too deep. I was in Sibenik hospital today visiting people close to death. In the heart ward. Impressive, to be honest. One of them was 100 years old. A fragile figure. Her heart monitor read frightening figures on its screen. I'd judge her not so guilty, whatever she had done. Which I'm sure was nothing bad. Nip round for a drink with me and my Croatian wife, at our 'Place in the Sun', overlookingall that sea, and we could discuss...all of this deep stuff. (Or ignore it, of course, and just drink). Or not...I don't speak Croatian very well.
