Hi Darcy,
I don't. Since I have posted a contrarian opinion about their pricing, publishing their names could be seen as an attack to hurt their business. I have no personal issue with anyone and also Crotia is an extremely small place. This is why I didn't name anyone but just posted my opinion hoping for a reference to a reasonable manager and also to supply something that potential buyers in Croatia should be aware of.
I am sure you can quickly find managers and their pricing by Googling - croatia, property, managment, (town).

i dont know if this will help, but i recently came accross a cleaning company. A Croatian girl owns it. Another Irish woman from my building has been using her since last summer and Ive been lucky enough to get her too. She does cleaning before/after you leave, laundry etc. I just text her or email her before i come over and she sorts everything out. Her email is dalmatianmaids@gmail.com plus shes cheap 300kn for my 2bed apt.

Susan - HRK 300 to do cleaning before and after any guests, and do laundry (sheets/towels)? Does she do the laundry in the apartment? Can I assume she has a set of keys? And finally, will she be OK about e-mails just appearing via you giving out her address? Thanks, Jude

Hi Jude, 300kn per clean which includes towels etc, think she takes my laundry away, so guest can come in straight away when shes done. what i did at the start of this year was have her do a light clean to air apt and dress beds out before i had guests come in, so basically she cleans after each client and anything specific on request. I deal with her through emails and texts as you know yourself calling from irl or uk can be expensive. Its very straight forward. You can mail her on dalmatianmaids@gmail.com if you want more specific info. She has been a godsend to be honest, its so hard to find people to clean for a reasonable price out there. We have been looking for a property management company to recommend to our clients for ages. Today i think we found one covering the Ciovo / Trogir area. Anyone who would like details please let me know. And no, I am not on commission!

We use someone in the Vodice/Sibenik region. She provides a variety of services but the usual clean/laundry is about 500kn of our 2bed apartment.

I think the property management companies should form a guild. If you are a member you should adhere to some standards otherwise the other members chuck you out. My own experience of running a business with the general public as clients is that some people want a quality service while others distrust everyone and so don't believe in what they are getting unless they think they've negotiated a better service./ reduced price. for the first group a guild work work but the latter will never be happy unless they research everything themselves. Strangely enough the second group are the the ones most likely to get ripped off because until you have experience you can only think you know what you are doing! Anyway i think a guild would work with a website listing members and a code of practice. Same would apply to estate agents but that's a long way down the line and would need the current band to be disbanded first.

I am 100% with you, Carol. I feel at least real estate agents targeting foreigners should come up with some kind of association/brand and stick with the standardised level of service (big Mack is a big Mack, I eat it only because I know what I will get, not because it is tasty). Something like Raine/Horne, 21st or Remax... people feel much better to stick with a brand when they are in an unknown, hostile or unpredictable environment.

dear furio. well it seems you are not having a good experience with property management companies. As you are no doubt aware this is a new development due to the sudden growth in property investment. The obvious effect is that people with a foresight for investment come in first at a high price. This is not unique to Croatia. It is true the world over. As more companies open and competition starts up to win business the price wars begin and the end user, the customer, benefits. It is the norm here in my vast experience in facilities management that the start price works out at about 30% of the rental income for a full property management service. This, I to believe is grossly over priced. i know you can get a professional service from around 15/20%. Some companies are not here to rip everyone of and understand that people need to see a profit at the end of the day.
