That's a fair question, and one I hadn't thought about. We were told it was a condition of the loan that we had the documents signed by the MFA and the stamp from the cadastre (to prove we owned the house, I suppose). If you're looking for finance prior to purchase you would of course not have these yet...
There might be different conditions for company owners, as they get their paperwork back in weeks/months rather than years. If anyone out there would like the contact details of the people at Hypo I dealt with, please PM me, and you can pose the question directly. They have a branch in Chelsea and are very thorough.
