You'd be insane investing on brac right now, far better on one of the smaller, closer islands where there is s alonger season and better investment return.

closer to what? Brac is only 50 mins on the ferry from the mainland (Split) compared to Hvar (1hr 45) or Vis (a lot!!).

Ah now Carol, you know there's a heap of islands, I think probably another 998 to what you mentioned, or more if local media take over your brain. Seriously there are a number of islands in far better positions that would represent good value for investment, and offer better exit returns. For the money they're talking about you could buy the parcels and build no fewer than 16 apartments in, for eg, Vodice, and still have the money left to advertise, buy another parcel or three and get a large return in an area where sales are still happening.

Hi Mirabelle I don't know anything about Kavanjin and Happy : The investment is a great opportunity for either a foreigner or Croatian. I'm sure once the apartments are built they will be affordable to either.

The investment is a great opportunity for either a foreigner or Croatian. I'm sure once the apartments are built they will be affordable to either. This sounds very woolly to me. I believe properties aimed at local Croatian buyers are very different to the ones aimed at foreigners. The two types of buyers tend to have very different needs and certainly very different budgets.

I am not sure if that is really true, plenty of Croats buy up tourist apartments, not sure of the per centage, but you wouldn't believe how much money some Croats have, some of it earned abroad of course.

I know plenty of wealthy Croats. They all build their own villas. I don't know any of them buying tourist apartments.

I don't want to enter into this dispute and I am not interested in the investment but Brac is listed as one of the top 10 islands in the world as invesment opportunity, it is the closest island and best connected island to Split and it's stunningly beautiful. Plus there are huge investors working on a few resorts there so to those who say it's crazy to invest there, I say, there are plenty of crazy guys !!! and rich ones !!!
