GhostW I don't really want to get into a pi$$ing contest with you, but as I have met at least 10 people who read or write on this site, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

ghost is right on the tipping tip. I just spent 10 days with 12 croatians visiting the US and am planning my trip to CRO as we speak so i have been absent. No tip is customary, unless you get good service, then they round up...e.g. 187 kuna bill...leave em a 200kuna bill. Of course as an American and former food service worker I can't not leave a tip. I always tip 20% in the US unless i get bad service. In cro i round up unless i get something above and beyond. Cheers.

Believe me everyone else is keeping up with the CRAP and we see all your lies!!!! You have also gone around now telling people you are Croatian.... so please explain this post EMIZ Guest Re: Getting Married In Croatia « Reply #34 on Mar 21, 2005, 5:04pm » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I remember hearing something about the 21 day rule, but I was only in Croatia five days prior to my wedding here. I did have to go to the local registry office in England before I came out here and announce that I am planning to marry and bring a copy of all the paperwork. I also had to have new documents, and everything had to be translated. Other than that I think you'll be okay. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Your posts are getting incredible day to day. It is like reading a comic. I am laughing at all the lies. ;D Each week you are changing your story..... .

Twenty years ago, i.e., 1985, tipping was absolutely NOT the custom. If and when it is done, it is a relatively recent phenomenon and if people born and raised in Croatia are saying it's not the custom save for "rounding up"....I think it's fairly safe to say it's not done.
BTW, if one is maybe 28-38 years of age today and lived in Croatia for 20 years, then one would probably be fluent in Croatian having first been exposed to the language at the age of 8-18. I seem to recall someone characterizing their Croatian as "broken" somewhere along the line....just an observation.

Firstly who said tipping was normal then?? now it is normal, people who are lieing about living here are saying that tipping is not done, it is. My age? you have no idea so that point is irrelevant. My Croatian is fluent. \\Next

Try again.... You said you were around 30 year old and that you are English and that you have lived in Croatia now about 18 months with the Croat wife and that you were leaving Croatia for good (because you hate it here and that we are all commies and a nation of liars). What the hell happened.... everyone has been waiting for you to leave!!!! Please do not tease us. We are still all waiting for that GLORYIUS DAY! ;D Waiting impatiently for your Departure, GHOSTWRITER
