haha, yeah, I know, like jester said, I'm a liar (he didn't but warned as well to be called one). But I can prove I was there, in more ways than one (I almost forgot my toll ticket to Benkovac and back).
I'll PM you about the 14th, I'm flying to Frankfurt in the meantime, probably the 9th-12th, but will be back and up to Vienna/Zagreb, around then!
Enjoy Kosovo, it's a beautiful place but scared the pants off me last year!
I think I can stand being shown how to drink, only started (again - stupid story) aged 23, never allowed to tipple too often with training and all!

I feel really safe in Kosovo, strangely, I was worried before I went there but now I quite like it.
I have good time down there. There are probably better bars in Pristina than in Zagreb. Lots of foreigners there with lots of $$$.

maybe I'll go down and try some street shows. sounds like a challenge. I'll be at skola tonight and I'll happily confirm your existence once we have actually met.

Yeah I don't think it's quite ready for that, I assume you were joking. Kosovo though could be the Switzerland of the Balkans, it is a very small place, small problems are always easier to fix than others. There are a lot of foreigners there earning a lot of money, many of these have married local girls and are ready to invest as soon as some kind of decision has been made. They are also very pro west, which endears them to the countries with power. I hope that Kosovo becomes an independent state, not because I am anti Serb or Pro Albanian Kosovars, but because I am pro people and pro life, if it is ever put back with Serbia, its all over for the kosovars. Having said that, I hope the Serbians down there are treated better than they currently are.

At the risk of incurring further wrath of Skab, I'll post quickly. What's been happening ot Serbs in Kosovo, I know the revenge thing is big, has been horrible, so here's hoping it settles down. It is a very pretty country, lots to offer, but I still wonder, as with Bosnia, the amount of Saudi fuelled bigotry and hatred that is there.
Oh, and one small thing, you said "pro people and pro life" cool on both, in as I read them, but you'll have some silly comments on a woman's right from probably a phantasm.....:-)

Around 10 years ago or so a lot of Saudi extreme "recruiters" entered Kosovo, fortunately whilst kosovars are predominantly Muslims they are also Balkans people and they were told to go away in the usual polite Balkans manner.
Some of these said recruiters actually disappeared overnight; I’m not naive enough to think that their money and offer of a first class education didn't persuade certain people to join in with their war on the west, but largely they were unsuccessful.
Serbs are mostly safe in Kosovo, but their villages are still burnt down, like in parts of Croatia too, and they have even less chance than the Albanians have of finding a job.
The biggest outside problem in Kosovo currently is the lack of visa restrictions, all sorts of low-life’s are there, Moldavian prostitutes, Thai masseurs, Russian money launderers etc.

so obviously the whole topic has been deleted. and now the discussion about it is starting to move to a wrong thread (i'm guilty, i'm sorry, but that's why i'm posting here now).
yep, some people may have found it a 'dull topic', but noone was forcing them to read it. someone said it was childish.... who are they to judge what's childish? i prefer seeing childishness in people (there's so much positive in that word) than the narrow-mindedness.
it was in the off-the-topic section and i don't see it did any harm. in my personal opinion, there are topics about politics and some attitudes there that are much more harmful then a silly discussion like this.
i wasn't even involved that much (true, sometimes one just can't resist), but i really don't like the idea of deleting the whole thread.
so some people get carried away and use inappropriate language.... you can either leave it that way or delete their posts, but why delete the whole thread?
also, by just deleting it the disease won't just stop. don't worry, it's a self limiting disease and eventually it'll go away. as long as you have it under control in the right section, it should be fine.
those who are interested will read it, some will post. those who are not interested won't even open the thread. shouldn't it be ok this way?

Noddy, I missed what went on, please tell...
Was the sun in my eyes so I couldn't see anyone on Friday? Or was it a different topic altogether?

irac, i have no idea what really happened. i spent the whole day on plitvice and was tired, so i went to bed early. on the thread about living in zadar david said ghost had become very cross and said that some of the posters were the same (you can still read his post there, you probably have). that's all know. the last thing (and practically the only one) i said on the deleted thread was to you, irac. i said you shouldn't get so upset and that the next time you should come to zg for a beer

Thanks Noddy for that, I remember now, it was the two no shows one, which was kind of ironic given that ghost was claiming that we were both the same person, so in fact it was only 1 no show, whereas in reality it was one no show and one show. Sad I missed the end of the thread, but you're right, I only hate being accused of something I never did (ie cheat, scam, lie), as I've always done more for no gain (financial) than for gain. Certainy that beer is looking good, though I must admit to preferring shorts!
Oh, I almost forgot, I read you'd been to Plitvice, it's stunning (yes it's crowded), but you must know that there's still over 1 million undetected mines in the National Park alone! They're plastic built and so only found when some poor unfortunate steps on one! This is a true fact, by the way, and can be verified at the highest levels!
