Is there anybody else who is being driven absolutely INSANE by the tedious, ludicrously repetitive and lacklustre plinkety plonk wallpaper tune that Croatia Airlines plays when you get on and off the aircraft?

Yes that and the little tv screen demo because they are too lazy to do a proper one themselves.
That company is a joke from top to bottom.
I fly with them every two weeks and I can count on one hand the number of times they have been on-time.
I fully expect somebody to find some stats that show that 99.9% of all flights are on time, but it's rubbish. I use them and they're a joke.

I don't mind if flights are delayed, that's life, but the expensiveness of the company is horrible. I've a couple of friends in the company working out of Split and they think it's normal to pay such ridiculous fares, I just don't know.
The music though, hmm, a lot of places use the same kinds of music, like T-Com use the same music as Lufthansa and a couple of other places. At least Czech Airlines use some good stuff, it's probably the best "theme" music going (Ma Vlast).
Oh, a cheer for AerLingus who use solid Irish classical trad, better than the chanting prayers of some Middle Eastern lines!

I never fly with CA, if I have to go around Europe.........Ryanair is my choice. 2.5 hours from Porec to Treviso and from there I can go where I want.
I can understand that, if you are in Zagreb or down South it is difficult to use Ryanair, but CA is not that bad. Look at the prices for Lufthansa and believe me.........it is not worth the money (in fact, non of the big airlines are worth the money, that is why I fly Ryanair).

I have no choice, Croatia airlines are the only direct flight to many places I go. They allow people to check in far too late, having a flight delayed because people are late is unforgivable as is being delayed because the chick-in is too slow. Rubbish airline who overcharge to destinations where they have no competition and people can afford it. Also Zagreb airport is well known for losing your baggage, how on earth can they lose anything there? It’s so small. I recently travelled from Skopje to Zagreb with Croatia airlines for only 90 euros, this flight was booked 1 day prior to me flying, it shows how cheap they can be when they have no choice.

4,518 kuna for a cattle class return ticket from Split to Frankfurt via Zagreb - top that for great value! And the meal between Zagreb and Frankfurt, wow! that was some cheese sandwich. And you could have tuna if you wanted. Glad somebody else was paying. Ryan Air where are you?

hahaha!!! yeah man...those sandwiches are crazy! they sell those at convenience stores in the US. Or they look the same. I always say..."no way I'm not going to eat those things" BUT I ALWAYS DO!! Then i wonder if I'm going to get sick but I NEVER DO!!
ITs funny how something so gross can be so good after you have been travelling for 20 hours.

Croam, you're dangerously close to being seen as a sell out, agreeing with foreigners!!! I'm usually too nervous to eat on a plane (except if I buy - now - an Irish breakfast on an Aer Lingus flight), but last time I ate a sandwich on CA and I think it struggled despeately to escape (think Alien and John Hurt - heartburn!!!) But as you quite rightly say, any port in a storm!

well, the croatia airlines prop plane i took from Zurich to Zagreb looked sketchy at best. Before we took off the girl's tray next to me broke and flew down in her lap before take off...it was taped up...and the stewerdess rigged it to the seat cloth. That was a minute after everyone was wondering if we were going to survive the flight on the tiny propeller plane. We obviously did. Hey, I've never had problems with CA but I'm not a big fan of monopolies so whatever...bring in some competition. Or hows this: how about pursuit and kulen sandwiches with paski sir. Or maybe sam palacinkas.... or cevape. Come on those sandwiches are only good if your in New Orleans right now and choosing between that and your recently deceased neighbor. Or after travelling 20 hours.
