Well, Bush just stated that the Katrina relieve effort was a disgrace and that he accepts responsibility.
In normal times this statement would not be of great importance, but with 9/11 in mind it suddenly gets a completely different meaning.
This president has been claiming over and over again that the US would be prepared for an attack with WMD by terrorist. Opponents of Bush have stated over and over again that his claims are just bogus claims, simple retoric.
With the current confession Bush acknowledges that what his opponents already knew. The US is not only not protected against any attack (big or small), but due his politics he has increased the likelyhood of anohter attack in the US. And with this 'disaster reaction' in New Orleans every single terrorist now knows that even a small attack will be extremely successful. They don't need to go out of their way to get the desired effect.
That is why Bush is a disaster, not only for the US, but also for the whole world. For those of you who have seen the documentary of CNN about the Iraqi WMD fairytale it is quite clear that Bush reactions are based on emotions, not on facts. In this world that is not a clever thing to do.

Sorry Croam did you make a point there? I think what you're trying to say is that you're an American so you know everything better than anybody therefore before posting everybody should look at how often you post, then the person can decide how many post in a week they should make. Obviously I should make less than you, so you can have the final word, that's the point, right? Regarding time, I have as little or as much time as I decree nessercary, it's good to not have to work 9-5 everyday.

yeah, wow, i didn't realise this was some kind of posting competition. Since I have all the time in the world on my hands, I'll start posting things all the time that don't have any relevance to anything and then before you know it I will be the reseident expert on everything just because I will be the one posting more than anyone else. expect to see more posts just like this one coming your way soon. I only wrote this so it wasn't david having the last word.

I would imagine flying from Zagreb will break the bank!! I am going to England soon, and the flight from graz is something stupid like 20 or 30 euros. From Zagreb the cheapest flight I could find when I want to travel is 500 euros.

I found a flight from london around 24 nov. for about 800 euro. Last year I was quoted 1200 ex zagreb. So I think aircheapo from somewhere to london then train and 1 night accom then train again could still work out cheaper, but more of a hassle. I'll keep you posted, jan., feb. could be cheaper.

actually dave, if you would actually pause for a moment to reflect upon what you've read you wouldn't misread my statements, and others.
You can reread my statement. You've accused several people before of not being informed about croatia's situation because they do not live there. then you go and all of a sudden you are the expert on america because of what you saw and heard on T.V. thats kind of funny. its also funny that you work for the US government, which you despise so much. seems like your biting the hand that feeds you prijatelj. kind of funny. but hey, you have to feed your family, i won't hold that against you, but just remember other people are trying to do the same thing.
Gav: bush just claimed responsibility for the failure on the federal level. i have already posted how our system works here. George Bush doesn't have the legal authority to send the military into one of the states unless asked by the governor of that state. The governor of my state had National Guard troops in our state 7 days ago to deal with a hurricane that did not hit untill tuesday of this week. thats five days before. The governor and mayor of Louisanna ed up....not to mention that it was the most corrupt state in the union with the largest disparity of wealth. But hey, I love getting knee jerk reactions from you guys. You sound really intelligent, especially after the facts come out days and weeks later. Cheers!

I don't work for the US government, let's deal in facts here not silly childish jaunts and the idea that I could not be critical of am employer is silly. I am critical of many things my own government have done, but at least Blair is not an idiot like Bush. Only Blair could say.."there is a very famous saying on my area" Fool my once...you know erm big shame..fool my twice...and we have erm...erm...a big problem...erm.... The guy is a a grade A fool. My Employer is actually a Romanian jew.

What Rot, this is USA the biggest, best baddest country in the world. We're not talking about Afghanistan here. Bush could pick up a phone and make sure the request has been made. It’s easy to make up excuses and even easier to seems to convince many Americans that your excuse is good. I am not saying he is 100% responsible far from it, but the racist rubbish his old mother came out with shows he comes from good redneck stock. The poor black folk never stood a chance. Would he have reacted like this, if the white people of New Hampton had a few problems? Would he hell. Cheers!

i couldn't agree with you more. everything in the above quote is true.
I don't agree about the phone call thing. Its like blaming the CEO of a giant company for a problem the middle manager didn't take care of.
We have ALOT of laws in America. Its against the constitution of the United States for a president to send military on our soil unless its requested by the State in question. Its called The Posse Comitatus Act.
This is an undisputable fact.
Of course there is grey area...i don't disagree with you David, and he could have signed some executive order to go in but the Governor is much more at fault. Like i said above, the Governor of my state declared a state of emergency and called in the National Guard FIVE DAYS before Hurricane Ophelia hit us this past Tuesday. Just pause and think about that for two minutes before you reply. I hope you make enough kunas tonight to cook up a huge feast of cevaps, mjesano meso, mjesanu salatu and all the other goods. Enjoy an aperatif of Orohovica and then wash it all down with some rakija or homemade wine. I'll toast you tonight. Cheers.

Croam,
You should apply for a job in the Whitehouse, because you are still able to find excuses for Bush at a time that he has already given up searching for excuses. In fact, he already said he f**ked up, so why are you trying to defend him ?
