The last time I was this happy is when my wife went shopping and didn't buy anything, I have waited years for this day, I am a very keen cricketer and cricket follower, I listened to every minute and even watched a lot of it online.
My boys did us proud, the only sad note is that the legend that is Shane Warne will never play a test in England again.
And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountains green And was the holy lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen
And did the countenance divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills And was Jerusalem builded there Among those dark Satanic mills
Bring me my bow (my bow) of burning gold Bring me my arrows of desire Bring me my spears o'clouds unfold Bring me my chariot of fire
I will not cease from mental fight Nor shall my (my) sword sleep in hand 'Til we have built Jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land 'Til we have built Jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land
England

once in 18 years, hooray hooray, you've done so well. actually I couldn't care less, but would be interested in getting some cricket going around here. Anyone else up for it?

There already is a cricket team. Mostly it's Croatian-Australians. Also a couple of naturalised Indians. They are all nice guys, in the summer when they play the tournaments a couple of very serious players, pros from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa come and represent the homeland, they are the best team in central Europe.
I trained with them once, but I hadn't played for 3 years, I nearly broke my bones. It's easy to forget what an unnatural process bowling is.
They have probably stopped playing now, but I can send you the details of the guy involved if you like.
I only have an email address. Joe has a telephone number.
If anybody has Sky news watch it, it's an open top bus parade for our heroes!!
OOOOOOOOOOOO Freddy, Freddy!!

Cherish the next 18 months England.... for it is then that Aussies will once again regain the Ashes..
Yes the Pomms won the ashes but it was more a case of the Aussies losing the ashes than England winning them.
Cant wait til summer 2006-07 ..Warne has vowed to play and help win them back.

Gav, I wonder how you'd go explaining to the local Croats about a game that can last up to five days ... and a draw can be an exhilirating result....my dad struggled with this concept for years....in fact I dont think he ever got it ..

Come on buddy that is complete rubbish, we have played some of the best cricket ever been seen, when was the last time a team played such attacking cricket in test? I have never seen it. We have bowled well and had exciting batsmen like Freddy flintoft and Pietersen. We have had a strong team, whereas you guys have basically had Warne and in before his injury McGrath. I hope Warne continues he is a true legend, I used to coach a kid called called Liam Plunkett, remember that name, he plays for durham and will be bowling for England within a couple of years. Anyway he is a bit cocky and he was winding up shane Warne at headingly in the training area. Warne said to him, let's play one over, I will hit you 4 times, bamboozle you one time and either bowl or get you lbw the last ball. He did exactly what he promised, the guy is a genius. .

Cricket has been in Croatia nearly 200 years, it started when an English man brought it to Vis. They have serious profesionals playing for Croatia, it has a small following but a very dedicated one. edit as gav reminded me that it's Vis not Hvar.

and last year croatia won 5-0 in the ECC championships against switzerland, finland, bulgaria, slovenia, austria. I had no idea any of these countries were playing competitive cricket.

(in other words, a little background so we can follow) thanks hope this helps explain the ashes a little ... a series of five cricket matches played every 18 mths ...which has brought England and Australia to the brink of war many a time especially in 1932 for the Bodyline series en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ashes

He did exactly what he promised, the guy is a genius. . when the Pomms applaud every delivery even the ones played defensively you know that they were sh*it scared... Pietersen (a south african incidentally) was dropped by warne on 0 and 13 ( i think) that was the only difference between a win and a draw.... given that Freddy went so cheaply. I thought the light issue was handled badly by the Umpires offering the English batsmen the light even though 2 spinners were operating ...even the English commentators as parochial as they are (Boycott and company) were stunned and amazed. In any case we can talk about what would have and could have been ... fact is you guys one the series on the back of 2 players Freddy and Pietersen...who mind you the English selectors were a little doubtful as to whether they should pick him for the Test series at all. heres to the 2006-07 series
