Croam-Have you watched this season's episodes of NBC's ER? Notice how one of the main characters is getting 'star power'! Notice all the references to Croatia? HMMMMMM! What is going on here? Makes you wonder!
Happy screen play writing!

im rewriting the feature i wrote this summer. i'm really lucky and have a great screenwriting teacher who has had 17 of his scripts turned into TV movies and sold even more than that.
Thanks for the tip.

The writers have been developing Goran Visnjic's character Dr. Luka Kovac. Many times they refer to and have even tried 'flashbacks' to his former life in Croatia. If the story line continues to build, we may see an explanation of why or rather how his experiences during the war contribute to his difficulties building/maintaining personal relationships and why his professional behavior can be so erractic. Maybe even a return to his homeland-then Croatia will really get attention.
This all goes back to the guideline..."write what you know'". As I continue to read this site and follow the threads that you are involved with, I can see that you 'know alot'. Use it Croam and you will become a successful writer.
Good Luck!
Ciao for now!

An episode of ER will be shot in Sibenik this series, and now the nonsense about James Bond has died down (did anyone ever think they'd let anyone other than an Englishman play the part this time around?), according to Goran's Mom, he's going to balance his time in ER and trying to boost the local film industry more (which he'd been doing a pretty good job of anyway).

He would have been great in the role as James Bond and maybe have attracted a different audience.
I hope the location shoot really captures Croatia. Many people in the US hardly know it exists. Goran is a good example of the talent that the country has to offer.
Plus-ER stays 'alive'.
Ciao for now! A.W.

I don't see how James Bond could be played by someone called Goran. Croatian men don't have the swarve sophistication necessary to play the part. Also it is "British intellegience!" so a non British person playing the role would move too far away from Ian Fleming's original character and storylines.

Well after all, "Braveheart" was Australian, not Scottish

Yes but three of the worst accents in screen history have been Mel Gibson's Scottish one in Braveheart, Russell Crowe's American one in Beautiful Mind, and Kevin Costner's shocking English accent in Robin Hood.

I don't see how James Bond could be played by someone called Goran. ... But you see how someone called Goran could be coach of England's national soccer team ?

...well he shouldn't be! Surely English men should be inspired by an English man. How can he inspire passion when he has a Swedish accent. Anyway England will never beat Brazil anyway.

anonymous and ti ti, i assume you're just being provocative, because i don't believe anybody can actually think and mean what you two (or is it just one?) wrote.
