Was your car keyed? I have had my car keyed several times just because that is what lots of people in Zagreb do, i am very worried if I bring a British car to Zagreb it will be the the victim of common thugs.

Vedran come and see my car, and you will see how many times it has been keyed, just random acts of idiots, sure it happens elsewhere but it has never happened to me before I came to Croatia, it has happened to 5 times or more since come here.
On the other side, would you like to explain how you will stop me? you cyber warrior? Vedran (ghost) you're a silly little girl who lives in California, be quiet!

I don't think it has anything to do with you having a British car. Probably just a personal thing or something to do with where you park it. On my street, there is one parking place near the entrance to someones garden, and if you park your car there, they will puncture your tyres in the night, regardless of the cars origin.Probably cheaper to have that fixed, then to pay to get your car back after it's been Pauked ! I have a british bedford van, which is parked near an indoor football place. No one has ever layed a finger on it. I thought it might get burnt when it was released that MI5 had bedford spy vans in Croatia hunting for Gotovina. It didn't. I've never heard anyone here express any anti british sentiments. Apart from on these boards, against emiz and yourself. It's time to drop the californian girl trip Dave, it's making you look paranoid.

There's a lot of "foreign registration plates" in my neighborhood ... And so far nobody mentioned to be keyed (and they are mostly mis-parked) ...
But in other hand, none of those have public fixation of being - "Maharajah of Croatia" ... I suggest you David to get elephant for transportation. At least it will know how to defend himself ... ;D

My car has zg plates, it has been vanalised many times when parked in town or on maksimirska, Just randoms acts by peasants. Vedran is ghost, or ghosts cousin I can't remember, read back and you will soon see that. Gavin if you have never heard any anti-british sentiment, I suggest your finger is not on the pulse, ask a few brits.

Sadly Zagreb has a lot of youths who think nothing of damaging a car, or spray painting a wall, I just wondered if I bought a british car if my chances of being victimismed will increase. Also in Zagreb, my car has been bumped at least 10 times whilst parked and not once has anybody left their details.

It's true that I don't hang around with you Brits much, but I know a lot of different people in many different walks of life. None of them have ever even hinted at harbouring any anti british sentiment. American, yes. German, yes. Italian, yes. Slovenien, definately. Serbian, goes without saying, but I said it anyway. British, none. I think for some people, it's all too easy to blame incidents on your nationality, and not your personality and attitude.

I don't have any problems, simply because I don't spend time in places were I am likely to come across the Neanderthals that will make trouble. I don't go drinking 3 nights a week, I don't try it on with girls, but I know several Brits that do, and all of them have had a kicking at some point. I have always found Croats lovers of Germans. The biggest problem occurs when the person is not white, I have friends who live in Croatia who have had their face kicked in because of their race, you've met one of them and it's a disgrace.

My brother in law has kept a couple of British registered cars in Zadar for the last couple of years and never had any problems with vandals. Where as my British car, in Briton, has been keyed or other ways damaged on 4 occasions now and I've only had it since March! There are mindless thugs everywhere

Sue, your brother in law doesn't have The Garden by any chance?

There are mindless thugs everywhere I know that but as my car will be in Zagreb that is the area I am worried about, having said that, my car has never ever been damaged, broke into or anything else in Middlesbrough.
