I wanna hear it, I don't want lies and sugar coated bull.
I want the truth, let's try keep this thread down to a dull roar.
1. I like the strong bond most families have. 2. I like the fresh food mentality.

1. Low crime levels - I feel secure knowing that noone will make a beeline for my mobile or ipod while walking down the street while in Croatia; not worrying about getting stabbed while going for my morning run
2. Sense of community - tighter bonds with neighbours and locals
3. Standard of education is pretty high

uuuuuuuu Bobs .... I will cover my eyes on this topic ... You could go much safer with for example - "there is no good sides, and this is exactly why I like it".

No, I want to see where the arrogance comes from, if it can be backed up, and justified or can be put down to patriotism and people selling apartments.

Re number 9: no longer relevant as they are being replaced by the new ones. Have you ever gone onto one of the old ones? I suppose if you enjoyed being tossed around like a sack of spuds, it's all good fun!

On the basis of the fact that I'm a tram fan, I will keep number 9!

Most of the trams are still old, unless they have replaced them all in the last 4 weeks, I seen one or two new trams, which look very nice.

lifestyle, but i guess that encompasses what has already been said.
the women are tall and thin unlike america.
Croatia is laid out well so that you can walk everywhere(within reason, Dave). THis keeps people thin, unlike America where we are all slaves to our cars that make us fat.
did i mention tall, thin broads?
oh, a good one. old and young alike go out to for coffee or beer very often. I have to drag some of my friends out once a week in the states. My friend who is a teacher in Split told me her day doesn't feel right if she doesn't go to the kafic.
i could sit at the kafic for hours everyday.

Come on, somebody who lives and works here, what are the real good things? I am especially interested in celebrating city life as in Croatia, nearly everything that happens, happens there.
Other things I like is that warm wine on the square at xmas, the lions club helping out local people at xmas, millionaire business men stand in the street and sell coffee.
The street in Zagreb were all the bars are.

Croatia is laid out well so that you can walk everywhere . Where are you talking about? I don't think is true at all, the stores in Zagreb city are terrible, so the only answer is to drive to the out of town shopping centres. Another thing you said yesterday Croam, do you really think Croatian, or any Slavic language for that matter is attractive? It is a lot closer to German than French in my opinion. Marginally nicer than Hungarian. I am disappointed so far with this thread, I give hard hitting reasons why i am disappointed with many aspects of life in Croatia, and Glen talks about smelly trams and Olivers sea gulls, come on, what would make a person move to Croatia. Sell me the dream.

Hang on David, you're getting off the subject...you asked for good aspects of Croatia, but now you're starting to critique others' points and their opinions. Back on track to good things about Croatia, please.

Croam,
Perhaps in Zagreb and in the South you will find the 'thin broads' (when they are still young), but here in Istria i sometimes think that the circus moved into town when I see the elephants walkind around. But then again, most of the fat ones are the tourists (germans to be exact).
