The only way to fly into Croatia cheaply is to fly with German wings, which means being in Germany at 9am in the morning. I have checked every company and it cannot be done otherwise. Rip off Croatia airlines are 400 pounds for a one way ticket from London No wonder a well traveled Croatian is as rare as rocking horse poo.

www.skyeurope.com Do me a favour and get a quote from these people. If you fly one way with Croatia Airlines, you can only book business-class.

There are a few other discount fare options besides Germanwings to Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik (seasonal). 1) Hapag-Lloyd Express - www.hlx.comFlies from Cologne to Rijeka at discount fares, and from next summer to Dubrovnik 2) Sky Europe - www.skyeurope.comFlies to Split, Dubrovnik, and Zadar from Budapest and Bratislava, but only in season (Apr-Oct) 3) Wizz Air - www.wizzair.comFlies from all over to Europe to Budapest, and then you could take a train to Zagreb ... not ideal but if you want to save money, it can work 4) Easyjet - easyjet.comFlies to Ljubljana from London, again not ideal but a short train to Zagreb saves you lots of money overall 5) Ryanair - ryanair.comGets you as close as Venice, which may be OK if you need to get to Rijeka or near I'm flying to Brussels this week and was faced with paying CroAir 500 euros or taking a bus to Venice and paying 40 euros roundtrip with Ryanair. I'll be on that bus.

Also, British Air has a decent roundtrip price (~260-300 euros) from London to Split or Dubrovnik 2-3 times per week.

Looks like a good website you're building, one of the main problems at the minute is accessing the different transport sources, times and prices. i.e. plane, ferry - bus - another ferry etc. Best of luck, by the way....how much is a flight for one week in August 2006, UK to Zadar, return with skyeurope.com

Mark, Thanks - EuropeTracker is a labor of love and a long-term work in progress that should help travelers...are you saying you are having problems with the site? Or with travel planning in general?
To go from the UK to Zadar on SkyEurope, you would have to connect in Bratislava (from London or Manchester). So that would be 4 flight segments and, with the lowest prices available now, about 180€ round trip. The longer you wait to book, of course, the more $.
The only caution here is that it looks like the Bratislava-Zadar flights are only Monday and Friday even in August so you would have to coordinate that with the daily flights London-Bratislava.

wow so that is about about £117 GBP return from UK to Zadar, at peak season, not a bad price, I know that when I or friends have entered depart - arrival dates, they have been given nearest options to those days, but for that price I think it is worth shifting a few days one way or the other. Thanks and keep up the good work, it IS needed!

No! your site is spot on, the problem our clients have is piecing together the best way to get to Croatia. They must venture through different sites and timetables to plan the journey, and a one-stop-shop will be a certain winner.

Forgot to add:
1) Ryanair also flies from London to Trieste and Graz so those cities are also fairly close to Croatia.
2) Mark - Zadar transportation connections are not yet in EuropeTracker but are coming soon as smaller European cities are being added to the system, so EuropeTracker won't handle your exact itinerary for another 2-3 weeks.

Mark, we're building more and more functions and data into the system so some places in Europe (including parts of Croatia) are awaiting further work. Trying to get all of Europe transportation into this thing is a huge task and is not surprisingly taking some time. I ask for patience. If you need any (complimentary) assistance with helping your clients get here, feel free to email me at info (at) europetracker.com. With building EuropeTracker and having taken just about every kind of train, ferry, flight, and bus to and from Croatia, I should be able to help cut through the clutter. I actually enjoy helping people with this madness!
