Croatia sent a freak this year and still had a terrible result, especially when you consider that Bosnia, Serbia and Slovenia gave you 10 or 12 points as they do every year.
Severina does not look human, she should lay off the plastic surgery.

...she was beaten by a monster, WITH WINGS!!!
Bosnia and Romania had good singers and one of those should have won.

For pure talent Brian Kennedy was excellent, the English lad let himself down with horrendous clothes that lost points on their own.
On the night the most entertaining act and song won, when you remove the political votes (which always have a role to play) but not accounting for the pre-event publicity tours, Finland finish 1st from Ireland and the UK.
We have to remember, too, that a lot of the singers on are well known in their home and neighbouring countries (Seve is an example we can all understand from Croatia - she's an ex-Yugo star) and so they will always have an advantage. And then as well as friendly neighbours (the UK and Ireland swopping 8 points) you also have lots of emigrants and ethnic groups, look at the dreadful Turk song getting 12 from Belgium and Germany! It's what makes it such a great event!

The ethno-pop thing has been done to death, I curse Eimear and Secret garden for allowing it to take off in the first place! It didn't deserve to win as it wasn't as entertaining as others, but it was okay for elevator music.

I thought the british song was pretty good in terms of the genre that is the norm, it was utter crap europop which is the whole point.
Uk could send out Elton John with a new classic and we still wouldn't win, we know that, so we don't even try, plus it is a very expensive event to host, and although it pays off for the likes of Ukraine who don't have a large number of visitors, most countries in western Europe don't want to win, a top 5 finish would be ideal.
