I am me and not anyone else. Croatia has some 505 known species of amphibians, birds, mammals and reptiles according to figures from the World Conservation Monitoring Centre. Of these, 0.4% are endemic, meaning they exist in no other country, and 3.8% are threatened. Is the same as I said, I'll the mathematics for you 500/100 = 5 = 1% so 0.4% or two fifths = (2/5) * 5 = 2 On the plant front Croatia has got around 1200 endemic plants, nearly a third are on Krk only. What about the Hydroelectric Dam Project in Novoberje, NGOs, other countries all against it, it will destroy some important natural sites in Croatia and damage a protected area in Hungry, but Croatian govenrment says we will build it. Sorry Lavic, I don't like when people accuse me of being different poster's. So I should not behave like them. It makes me look as stupid as them. SO A BIG SORRY Lavic. I was not arguing with the numbers. I was highlighting them as a point of interest but we do have a large endemic amount if you count in the plants. That is what the first post meant. You are correct if you are just talking about animals & fish. You are very correct in your math on that. About Krk that is true. They have so many different plants there. I especially like the very popular lavender. Lavender has so many purposes besides perfuma. The Dam I think is a mistake, it will possibly extinct certain river fish. The government does give some $ for the sciences but not enough. I have many friends that are science/doctors that can't find jobs in their respective fields. Government corruption is a problem but so are we. The people of Croatia keep voting in stupid people and we don't stand up to corruption. As long as we sit like a dumb donkee, than we will be treated as such. The youth at the university's especially the ones in Split in the Marine methodology(sciences) should get their ass'ss to Zagreb and strike to stop the dam. Anyway it was nice talking to you and I do apologies. You seem to be a very concerned and talented person in the sciences.

Does anyone ever visit any of the other forums.
Like the Hr. forum or Croatia unplugged.
What do they think of them compared to this one? I have spent time on the Hr. forum, unfortunately for some of you here it is in mother tongue. The croatia unplugged site is in english. The HR site is pretty cool lots of Croatians and many, many different opinions, surprisingly being that it is mostly Croatians online.
The other site I visited a few times when someone emailed me the address, it is very similar to here but much more debating. Has anyone ever visted the myspace.com that is a strange site. Mostly kids.
