Is there any way to have a chat room on this site?
A request that I would have would be that anyone using the chat room would have to be logged in. . .. for obvious reasons.
Anna. . . I hope you go along with this.

Thanks for your suggestion, Valleycat.
Yes, ProBoards (the providers of these boards) do actually have a feature that allows for a chatroom to be automatically integrated with the forum.
The only downside of the chatroom, that I can see, is that there's no way of knowing who is in it (if anyone) before entering it. But I suppose that's not too big a problem. (Unless people feel like spontaneous chatting.)
I'm more than happy to implement it, if people would like.
What do others think?

Anna thanks. . . I think it would jazz up the place. . . looking forward to some of us making a fool of our selves. . . lol.
Lets see what the rest of the gang think.

Yeah - a chatroom's a great idea - but I fear that many here would never leave the house if you started it

Chats are Cheap ! but , can you get me a semi-decent Air-Con'd double room near Zagreb , next month , for 3-4 nights , in the Tourist Paradise of Croatia ?

ray - why not just put a post on the general travel board and then look on some websites e.g, Croatia Holiday and Home.

Because , I've written to the Tourist Board in Zagreb , plus to 5-6 hotels/motels/pensions in that vicinity ; the board duly kindly answered me , with the list of establishments and their coordinates , which I've since perused : to no joy , whatsoever . This has been going on for over a week now , upon my various and repeated e-mail enquiries I received a total of 1 ( one ) reply , from Bregana ( negative ) and so , I'll probably give the whole brilliant idea a complete miss , hooray !

Hard to tell , since mostly : appears that they can't be bothered to reply to specific e-mail enquiries ! Now the Zagreb tourist office suggest that there "may be " problems with t-com... If the mood takes me , I might yet phone a few of them later - or alternatively , rather do The Sensible Thing i.e. and go to La Belle France , instead ( both : nearer and v. much more reliable ! )...

i think I know the problem! You are expecting them to check their email and reply! When i first tried to buy a property in Croatia I was hitting my head against the same brick wall. Now I know that the local agents didn't really bother with email. I think they do now, but it is still hit and miss with many lawyers and accountants etc. It sounds like pension owners are the same - surprise surprise. Phone them and you'll get an instant answer.

Actually , since you asked , let me set the record straight : I e-mailed a total of 6 ( six ) establishments , all in/around Samobor-Bregana area ; a few of them I e-mailed up to 3 (three ) times ( Lavica , Samobor etc ); the only one who came back , by e-mail , within 72 hours from the enquiry , was BIO PARK DIVLJE VODE in Bregana whose place I thought we might have particilarly liked , such a pity that they couldn't accommodate us , this time ! I hope my mention of their place here might help them with some future business , Thanx & Good Luck ! As for today's Croatia pretentious claims to being such a Tourist powerhouse , ( having read some of the 40-odd pages from Englishman in Zgb ) I think it rather prudent to reserve my comments and opinions for some more objective and less solipsistic venue of exchanges , don't you agree ? Cheers !
