Hi,
I am planning to visit Croatia with a friend in Sept for a week/10 days. Basically, we are planning to fly into Dubrovnik and move on, if we feel the need, from there.
Basically, I want to know what other people think. If you had 10 days tops to spend in Croatia, what would you do? I want to keep busy during the day and have fun at night. All and any tips would be gratefully accepted!
Thanks
Sinead

Hi Sinead, The Problem with moving around is finding a place to stay but that is half the fun ,Try get to see the Island as they are very beautiful and are served by a good ferry service during the summer. The people you meet are just as important as the places you stay so go have fun in Croatia. You won't be disappointed. Brac,Hvar,Mjet,Korcula,Split are good places to visit. Kind Regards Stephen

I imagine it depends what you like doing. If like me you enjoy historic sites then I would say Split is also a must for the remains of Diocletian's palace. The old town of Split is rather reminiscent in some ways of Dubrovnik, and also contrasts with it in some ways - the back alleys are even more convoluted! The eight kuna admission fee to the basements of Diocletian's palace was money well spent, in my view - they are most impressive, whatever you think of the modern art on display in the eastern part.
Both Split and Dubrovnik are on the UNESCO world heritage list.

Sinead, We're doing the same! We went to Istria (Porec) last summer and the locals there recomended Dubrovnik and the Islands as they were much less crowded and less touristy than the Istrian Coast. We're starting in Dubrovnik for a few days and island hopping on the ferry up to split before making our way to Plitvitsa Lakes (spelling sorry) for a relaxing few days before making our way back to Porec and over to Venice for a cheap flight back to the UK..... I'm sure you'll have a great time!
