Here's hoping for some help!
We inherited a house in Sveti Petar last year and got an "official" valuation for it for Croatian purposes from an official valuer. We do now need a valuation for UK inheritance tax purposes. Only last year is last year and this year is different! Can you help suggest someone, who can maybe offer a valuation even if off photographs and a description perhaps... UK taxman should be happy with an estate agent's valuation as long as it goes through our Croatian lawyer and gets certified. We are hoping for a more realistic value considering the circumstance. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I believe that if a person is UK domiciled, then all their worldwide assets are subject to UK inheritence tax. Therefore, when they die, if they own a property in HR, the UK tax authorities want to know about it. Whether the beneficiaries 'need' to inform them is another matter.....
