I am English and would love to know an english translation of the words to this song, which is Croatian I think?? Please? Never heard the song before, but Google says that the lyrics are: U poju se mala Narančica vije Nit' od vitraj, mala Nit' od sunca žarka
Već divojka, mala Od velika jada Što je mati mala Za udovca daje Translation is roughly: In the field, a little Orange tree is swaying It's not because of the wind, a little Nor for the bright sun.
But a maiden, a little In a great sorrow, For her mother, a little Is giving her to a widower.
Yeah, "mala" was mostly used because of rhythm and rhyme. And the mood, too. .

Translation is my own, while original lyrics were found by googling "u poju se mala" etc.

Good job justapixel! Although if someone wants to understand what the heck its about I should note that the last bit is (again for the sake of understanding vs. lyrical):
But a little (young) maiden out of great sorrow because her mother is giving her away so little (young) to a widower
