Hey is there anyone out there that has done a Language course and somehow feel it was a waste of time and money?
I did a Course last year to help my integration/job searching and throughout this course we was made to work through a text book after we bought it, occasionally we had the odd croatian speech practice but nothing heavy. The course finished when we were only halfway through the book, me and everyone else from that course were complaining and the lecturer just explained that the course was in 2 parts and we must pay for part 2, I didnt pay and quit the course out of principal...because they did not make it clear and I was expecting my payment was for everything (so did everyone else).
The thing is I felt really cheated and learnt only bits of grammer with no real speaking and listening skills...I could have just bought the book from a bookshop and went through it with my Croatian girlfriend.
Ok, just curious as to whether others have experienced this sort of thing and how common is it (i can imagine its big business)
Thanks in advance

Yes, the crash course (9 months) of speaking the same language when I got married... still don't understand my wife. Hehe!
Seeing the end of the double barrel shotgun gave me a stutter.
All she understands are my heartfelt replies of"yes dear", "how much you want dear", "taking garbage ou dear", "walking the dog dear" and "I'm sorry dear" (oh dear, I'm sure I left out some other phrases).
Good luck Denis with those private language lessons with the girl friend.
