Hi David71, I'm English and have been living in Croatia for 4 years with my English husband and 2 children. Most kids' animated films (Disney/Pixar etc) are dubbed, the DVDs usually have subtitles too but beware, often the dubbing and the subtitles don't match! Re text books, we've tried the "Teach Yourself Croatian" but didn't really like it. I now have "Spoken World Croatian" which is better but I'm a lazy student so haven't got too far with it yet.... I can recommend Linda at Easycroatian.com for lessons. She is based in London but does Skype lessons too. We've also tried Croatian through karaoke which is fun. Listen to Croatian songs from YouTube where they show the lyrics too then try and sing along. It keeps our kids (who speak excellent Croatian) amused watching us :0) Good luck!
