Things have become quiet around here since the heyday of interest in Croatia (2004/5/6?). Also there has been a sort of evolution in the type of posts it gets. Originally it was how to have a holiday in Croatia with lots of people leaving tips about making the connection from the Ryanair flight to Ancona and the overnight ferry.
Then it was how do I get a property because the market is so HOT. (and ahead of its time there was EMIZ's Croatia is a horrible place thread). Then it was how can I sort out my property problems? Then numbers of posters seemed to dwindle a little and the threads were often on the theme I don't like how I am being treated as a foreigner. Followed by the visa debacle and the mass exodus in 2008. Then you joined, Crojoe and I left Croatia and the board has been really quiet for the last couple of years. Maybe it will bounce back in a couple of years time when the economic troubles start to fade and EU entry begins to dawn.
Funnily enough the attitude of many of the Croatian sellers in my agency sort of echoes this. Originally they were delighted to get the money, then they were wary of "selling the whole of Croatia" and they began to want more money, then they realised sales weren't going as fats as before but they decided to be "patient" i.e. not cut their asking price. Some of them are still in that phase whereas others have cut prices and managed to sell and move on.
As to the site, I am guessing that the google ads is where its at for making money on this or any other site. But look at the number of views some of the threads get: there is still interest in Croatia. its just a lot of the questions have been covered now (so i hope Anna does not take this site down as its a mine of information)
