Its been a long wait but the new season is here at last. Get your thinking caps on and get your predictions in before 15.00 , Saturday 13.08.11 As defending champion Prkbrk has requested that the Celtic V Rangers game be included as and when they play. Do you all agree ? Just a little reminder for MG and GOB. the idea is to get as many predictions correct as possible. i know you both fought a hard battle last season for the lowest score, which MG magestically won with a 0. Saturday, 13 August 2011 Blackburn v Wolverhampton Fulham v Aston Villa Liverpool v Sunderland QPR v Bolton Tottenham v Everton Wigan v Norwich Newcastle v Arsenal
Sunday, 14 August 2011 Stoke v Chelsea West Brom v Man Utd
Monday, 15 August 2011 Man City v Swansea

Sadly I would think there will be serious doubt about a number of weekend games and UTV could be close in his on/off predictions. It could be a total wipeout given the re-deployment of police resources across the UK. Even if there is 'relative calm' restored to the streets of the various cities affected there will still be large police presence maintained and the last thing any force will want is to have to worry about a football game- at the very least the police will be giving their officers some breathing time to rest up as surely at the weekend there will be heightened opportunity for trouble- especially when the pubs close. However the following games are likely to go ahead ( maybe with the exception of the Berwick game ) Scottish Football League Championship Second Division Albion v Forfar, 15:00 Cowdenbeath v Brechin, 15:00 Dumbarton v Stirling, 15:00 East Fife v Airdrie Utd, 15:00 Stenhousemuir v Arbroath, 15:00 Scottish Football League Championship Third Division Alloa v Clyde, 15:00 Berwick v East Stirling, 15:00 Montrose v Elgin, 15:00 Peterhead v Annan Athletic, 15:00 Queen's Park v Stranraer, 15:00 Kick off times are subject to change as and when the supporter(s) agree to turn up on the day ;D

Just funny how it comes out after their game is cancelled. Did it hit a financial nerve or are they really concerned (I guess many of them understand the plight of the disadvantaged youth as many came from such humble backgrounds)?

Spurs game is off- I expect more games to be called off today as well. Already a 'minor' game at Telford has also been called off at the request of the police

What contest am I missing? Something about that sport that required grown men to chase a leather or nylon ball? The one where grown tough guys toss themselves on the ground when touched or clipped, holding their shins in agony, then oddly jumping right back up to go on their way, as though nothing happened? Or is it that sport where the players get paid millions, drive around in fancy cars, have bitchy wives and have very poor speaking abilities?
