I'm making some shelves for my balcony from some old chipboard sort of wood, but I need to cover the exposed edges. Can anyone tell me the Croatian name for those Veneer edging strips that you can buy in the UK? also can you give me the words for Chisel, Wallplug and plane Thanks in advance...

You're after rubne trake. elgrad.hr has the best range and you can buy it by the meter. You can get real wood, melamine, or abs plastic (most durable). Bauhaus and baumax and pevec have it in packages but it's over priced. Furnir.hr, www.javor-trgovina.hr/, www.iverpan.hr/ are similar to elgrad and might also be of interest to you. chisel - dlijeto wallplug - tiple there's different sorts, za knauf -for plasterboard, za beton - for concrete tiple is also used for a short wooden dowel plane (woodworking) - blanja or hoblerica If you are in Zagreb and need any help or need to borrow tools or just need information, let me know. I have a workshop, quite a few tools and I know where to get everything you need for building stuff at the best price and I know what most things are called.

Hey thanks gmh Very useful yes, I am in zagreb but unfortunately I cant do all as much DIY projects as I would like because I live in a small pokey flat and its owned by my girlfriends father...who doesn't want me to do anything except fix whats broken, asking to make anything is like begging the MUP for a free permit I am already in the bad books for making these shelves, so I guess thats my DIY lot for a few years Incidentally, I have a place in Gospic that I need some sheets of osb for...for some reason up there they sell it really expensive for about twice the price that they do in Brico store!...since you seem like a DIY person, would you happen to know of any Bauhaus/Brico store type places in Lika, that would probably have a delivery to Gospic?...longshot, I know, but worth asking Thanks anyway...
