Edit: I was in New Zealand a couple of years ago. I joined a UK ex-pat forum because I had questions regarding ferries. I was amazed by the amount of requests for social gatherings from the English. It's not like New Zealanders speak a foreign language. yet the Brits are the first to jump down the throats of people who come to the UK and fail to integrate.
Don't worry Zad, be like me and have no friends, then problem solved. Ha! But much like you I don't attend to many foreigner events except a few big ones like AMCHAM picnic, American school new term event and a few British events which are far a few in number. I for sure don't go see the British comedy events or quiz show. Most of my so called "friends" are my kids friends parents (mainly Croats), but if kick came to shove you sometimes wonder who will stand by you? Most people only have a few "true" life long friends to speak of, so I guess I'm still working on it, although I have a few in the UK and Aussie. Otherwise for a social life it's either Avenue Mall or Arena Mall, Bundek park, Avenue Mall, Bundek park, Arena Mall or the movies (then the list goes around again), oh, and the central Police station, otherwise know as MUP (so glad they have now put in a public toilet).
