I love the Croatian coastline and we've vacationed a lot over the years and now would love to find a new place to visit. Does anyone have any places to suggest?
I'll list the places we've stayed, so again, looking for a new place - close to a pebble beach (not beton) and not too far driving to a settlement that has a playground, promenade and restaurants.
Islands we've seen: Krk, Korčula, Murter, Mali Lošinj. Other places are: Opatija, Selce, Crikvenica, Medveja, Rabac, Pula, Rovinj, Umag, Poreč, Split, Dubrovnik, Makarska, Brela, Tučepi, Trogir, Medena, Šibenik, Zadar,Primošten.
We have some time booked in Soline (Biograd na moru) this year but are looking for another place to try as well. The only places that spring to mind that we could try are Vir, Pag, Brač - how are they for family vacations? We often travel June and July and perhaps a weekend away in August if we can find something last minute.
We're low-key and don't need anything fancy but it can't be too be isolated or too far from amenities in case our child needs something (dom zdravlja etc).

I have found Rab town lovely when I was there 2 years ago. Nice promenade, restaurants, lovely park adjacent to the old town, there are beaches nearby. Not sure about kids' playgrounds...

Rab is pretty good IMHO. Lots of nightlife plus swimming areas within walking distance of the centre. There are plenty of nice beaches around the island. Parking in Rab town is a nightmare but that's probably true everywhere.

Hi,
Thank you, I googled Rab and it looks lovely! Any particular areas/beaches to recommend?

Here's an idea, there are several boat taxis operating from the main harbour area. It'll be worth the investment to cruise around a bit checking out the beaches. The skippers all know the best places and will tell you how to get to your choices by road.

Hi, I am from Croatia and here are my favorite places on the Dalmatian coast: pakoštane - pine beach resort, šibenik - solaris beach resort, Dugi otok island - sakarun beach, Vis island - Stiniva beach, small town of Komiža, Biševo blue and green cave, Pag island - Gajac, islands Brač, Hvar, Mljet (so many beautiful beaches and nature), and also I strongly recommend Plitvička jezera as a must see. it's not on the coast but it is totally worth it. Enjoy your stay in our lovely country
