Does anyone have an idea what the main difference is between a doo and jdoo company registration?

Early views seem to suggest that a JDOO can only have one owner. Not exactly that much simpler if that's all there is to it.

What's the point of that you can have a doo whith one owner or am I missing something Hence my question. I was with my lawyer today and asked for clarification. Apart from not needed to put 20,000 kuna into the company bank account (for a few days), there is no difference. Doesn't seem right. I have a new buyer this week who has opened a JDO in order to own his new property. I guess we'll see what happens.

Indeed they do. My understanding is that EU accession rules stipulate that HR must stop "discriminating against EU citizens" by 31 July 2020. I have little faith that it will happen, more like that HR will comply but then add some other law which effectively achieves the same thing. As for Brits and brexit, who knows?

You still can't own property unless it is in a building zone so if you want a rural property you have no choice

It gives the game away somewhat when you learn that non-Croatians can own land outside of a building zone - if they inherit it. It looks like it's just a ruse to allow the kids, grandkids etc of the diaspora (who do not have Croatian nationality) to own such land here.

We've just completed our first JDOO deal where it's only purpose is to 'hold' non-building zone land on behalf of a foreign buyer. There is no practical difference in this case except for the need to inject 20,000kn into the business bank account at start up is not required with the JDOO. Ho hum.
