Going on some of the suggestions in the past, I've made some changes to these boards. I've made some of the boards members-only (specifically, the "Living in Croatia" and "Debate and Discussion" boards) which I'm sure quite a few people will appreciate, for various reasons.
I've also added a few new boards, including a "Anything Goes" board where you can talk about anything!

In doesn't take a lot of effort to register and log in. The problem was that a lot of guests were chipping in with insults and useless bickering, and I think some registered users were coming on as guests also to back up there own arguments. Having to register is just a minor deterent.

Anna is stifiling the freedom of expression. Some people just like to come and see what we're talking about.
People may perhaps use alter egos or other identities, but why does that matter to you Gav. You can also make a Gav2 or Gav3D if you want and register as many clones as you like.
The site may track an IP but that is easily overcome.
The only effect it has is deterring the normal people who just want to read the posts and say hi.

On another note this move stifles the constructive criticism some people offer croatia.
It is this intuitive clarification of the real croatia that will help people, if they have to register they wont even be able to reply!

explain again what is so difficult about registering. You managed to do it. It doesn't take long. Registration only deters those who are scared they may get caught saying silly things. Anyone who really wants to make a comment will bother to register.

most people don't have static ip addresses so monitoring IP's is useless.
Pip: you have to be the most conflicted and complexed individual to come on this board. Your criticism is anything but constructive.
you just point out the glaringly obvious: what is wrong in croatia. You don't offer one solution to the problem which just makes you a bitch.
if you and dave pointed out what was wrong and offered solutions maybe people wouldn't think you were such dicks.
