My partner and I are looking to buy a place on the dalmatian coast with a view to developing a small holiday villa letting company, which we will market ourselves over the internet.
This does not need to have already been developed, we could just buy the land and build the property. Any suggestions or ideas who could be of constructive help please?
We are also looking at Kefalonia, my partner speaks greek, but property where we have been looking is so expensive and the locals want to control our entire operation, and tie everything to them.
Not an option with our cash!!!!
possible or should I just seek early retirement in Spain?

Paul Just look at the price of property and the length of season in Croatia. Then look at the rental rates and see if you can make a margin after deduction running costs, legal fees, local representatives/cleaners etc. Then think about taxes, bonding arrangements, bad debts, and your own costs in running the business etc. You will find that there is little if any return on investment, especially if you have to borrow money. Croatian people manage because they mostly have the property that they have built themselves and they do not need to make a big return on investment. Just my thoughts on the matter, but others may tell you differently
