Hi
Has anyone dealt with or bought a property through Broker Co in Split? I am looking to buy a place on Brac through them
I have asked them for some testimonials from British people who have bought through them but they are not that forthcoming on the issue!

Sarah,
Having met Peter Ellis who posts on here I would suggest that you contact him to see if he would act on your behalf, at least that way you are dealing with a person who would represent your interests rather than that of the vendor and he would be able to assist with advice as to the legal matters etc.

Broker hasn't not got the best reputation. You will pay over the odds dealing with them.

yes - 6% commission. They showed us a place while we were on Brac a few weeks ago, which we really like, so our link to this property is Broker Co. Unfortunate for us that this is through an agency that charge more than other agencies!
Have you heard any other comments about Broker Co apart from the fact that they charge more?
From the onset they have been really pushy for us to commit to the sale but they give nothing without being asked first - which is lengthening the process. It's a good job there are good websites for me to consult and compile questions!
I'll definitely seek my own legal representation to check they have looked into everything

Stay away from Broker!!!! They are not legit.
My husband has had really bad experiences with them.
They list properties that are not even for sale (the owners don't know about it). Pretty scary.
Did you ever want to go see one of these properties and they will make a bunch of excuses why you can't?
Also when in Split all the regular agencies are advertised in newspapers etc. but Broker is nowhere to be seen or heard..They are known just to list on the internet and prey on foreigners.
He also had a few other problems with them. I'm not sure of the details.
He researched at least 20 agents in the Split/Brac area but only found 1 or 2 legit ones. I'll ask him for the names/numbers if you want.
I would be VERY careful if you are going to deal with them.
Did you try private sales? I know a lot of people who have had good luck going that route.

Try private sale, as Ruza has mentioned. Not only that Broker charges high commission they also inflate the selling price.
