Hi,
Does anyone know of markets, antique shops or architectural salvage shops in Split where you can get old Croatian furniture (tables, chairs, wardropes etc) ? We have bought an old house on Hvar and would like to furnish it in a traditional style.
TIA.
Frederick.

Only one that I know of is in Sveti Kay ( Kastela). It is a part of a charity, in some kind of church owned baracs, the ex drug users live there and repair od furniture, they then sell it.. Some very nice parts you can find there. I was quite impressed by this whole project and amount of love these people put in these furniture bits, sometimes they doi not really like to sell it I have also seen some in old Dioclecian cellars but they are expensive.
