Safety in czech, slovakia and hungary
I plan to travel to Croatia soon. I wondered whether pickpockets and mugging are a problem?

Thankfully pickpockets and muggins are still not a problem in Croatia. Just came back from Budapest, where that is a BIG problem (a woman attacked on a train for Zagreb and robbed. The muggers jumped off as the train was departing.

I must admit that I was very disapointed to see that pickpocketing has increased in Rijeka where I come from. On my last visit I witnessed 2 myself unfortunately. Crime in general is on the rise. I cant tell about other cities but for a mall town like Rijeka it is definitely noticable.

Well, I live in Rijeka and like Zagreb, it is very safe. So the previous post was too dramatic and unfair, at least.

Gaia,
