Can someone tell me why Serbs are so obsessed with Croatia? They only ruled Croatia for less than 70 years. Austrians and Hungarians ruled over Croatia for over 700 years, and there is no obsession there.
Are the Serbs crazy or what? Can someone explain this to me?

Marie
What do you mean by “They only ruled Croatia for less than 70”?
If I remember history lesson correctly, after the break up of Austro-Hungarian empire, Croatia was part of Kingdom of Yugoslavia from 1918 until WW2, headed by Serbian King. After the war Croatia was part of SFR Yugoslavia, headed by Tito who was Croat. I can’t remember when was Croatia ruled by Serbia for over 70 years?

I completly agree with you Mari. I have talked to many croats who say that durning the beginging of the milosevic era, that serbs tried to have a tighter grip on all of Yugoslavia, wheter I belive that or not is up to me, but hell, at least I respect their opinion and listen to what they have to say.
But when I hear stupid crap like "Yuga was ruled by Serbia for 70 years" I want to kill myself. I cant belive that people have become this stupid. I have never hated Croats in fact I liked talking to them, and today many of them are some of my best friends, and although we dont talk much about politics, most are definatly smarter than this.
Tito ruled Yuga almost half his life and was a Croat/Slovene whos right hand man was a pure slovene.
What is happeing to the world these days???

Marie is right that Croatia was ruled by the Serbs from 1918 to 1938. For example there were no Croatian police in Croatia at that time, they all came from Serbia (zandari). No Croatian officers in the Army, no diplomats with exeception of Ivo Andric, Croatian factories were transferred to Serbia (Zorka Sabac came from Koprivnica, where close to 1,000 people lost jobs, including my grandfather) And so on!
In 1938 a Cvetkovic - Macek (Croat) government was established, and Croats had more freedom, own police, own Home guard etc

Ooops, sorry! Even in the 2nd YU (after 1945) many Croats felt that we were ruled by the Serbs, until 1980 almost all police chiefs in Croatia were Serbs, very few CRO diplomats etc. After 1980 situation was better!

They are obsessed with us and so jealous of our country it's not even funny... When you look at the beauty of our country and what they have ( a landlocked backwards hole) you can see why they are so jealous. Good riddance to them.

Have you actually ever been to Serbia, Zvonimir? Hole? Serbia may not have the adriatic as Cro but it is still a beautifull country, from magnificent cosmopolitian Belgrade to the small yet breathtaking Novi Sad, Nis, and probobly one of the most beautifull landscapes in the Balkans. Nothing wrong with anyone saying that their country is beautifull but dont go around saying crap about other places to which you obviously have never been in. Cya

Cya UCP, I read another thread about how you travelled around Yugoslavia and also Luka did the same. Well, I also travelled around. And as a Croat, I can say Serbia is a beautiful country. I've been to Novi Sad several times in my life and it is beautiful! I agree with you about don't say anything about a country you never been to! I cannot say anything about something I don't know or never been to! It is like me saying France is ugly when I never been there! Eventhough it is beautiful! UCP, I think there seems to be some very NARROW minded people here! People need to open up!

svugrekzg is maybe crazy cuz he has wasted some of his time on a patient like you, but at least he is not a cheater using 5 different nicknames Also, svugrek knows how to talk and discuss things. What about you ? Now you have included a new word (crazy) into your already too rich language, how did it just fit in there ? Unbelievable. Good job, keep it up
