If you are in a hurry I would suggest that you go to a solicitor for help. It will cost you, off course.

The answer is it takes 4 weeks to set up a Croatian d.o.o. My company performs this service. You have to put in 20000 kn as initial share capital and you will need your passport (if you are from outside Croatia) or your Croatian ID card. Our charge is 5k EUR, but this includes the 20, 000 kn which you effectively get to keep. Let me know if you are interested.

you can make your company dormant after a period of activity if you wish. Cost is the price of a stamp on the letter you send to the tax man.

Quinne,
Don't forget to tell that he has to come to Croatia to sign the papers to get the d.o.o into effect.
BTW, are you also in the offshore business ? If so, let me know, may have some additional information and contacts for you.
Stephen,
Why not move the ownership of that apartment into your d.o.o. ? Can save you some money and makes it easier when you want to sell the property. When you register your d.o.o. don't forget to register for as many activities as you can think of . It doesn't cost anything extra, but adding something in a later stage costs a fortune.
