Manchester united could be on their way to Split,
Hajduk have to beat Debrecin a Hungarian team that I have never heard of then, Man utd are coming to play in Split for the champions league qualifier, It should be fun for Man utd's Rio Ferdinand who has a house in Dubrovnik, I bet he didn't wait 2 years for permission to own his villa ;D

Scratch that, I just checked the score from the first leg and Hajduk got thumped 3-0, where is that guy gone who used to boast about Croatia's dominance over Hungarian teams? I knew it was too good tobe true

Hajduk were terrible in the first leg against Debrecin and it will be a miracle if they overcome the deficit. When you look back at their sweeping victories during the season it is clear that the Croatian league, relative to the rest of Europe, is at a very low standard at the moment. It was as if the defence had never played against professionals before - where was the marking for the headed goals by the Hungarians? The game here needs some major commercial funding support from big companies in order to keep the good young players. I cannot believe that Hajduk have blown the huge European financial windfall for two years in a row. I shall get my boots out and apply for a trial for next season.

It would help if a few more fans turned up, I know its a case of what comes first the chicken or the egg, but a true fans follows his/her team no matter how bad they are.
I think the Hajduk fans are the best fans in Croatia, unfortunately a huge % of football fans here are young hooligans, this alienates many fans.
I personally think that Croatian football is having a bad spell...I only rate three of the current team, Srna, Simunic and Kranjcar has ability. Prso is pretty good and always does well for Croatia, I wish they would recall Biscan, but that wont happen...so hopefully Jerko Leko may get a chance.
On the bright side....Brazil are coming to Split on aug 17, its a very strong squad with Ronaldinho the only big name absentee, the squad to face Croatia is
VRATARI: Dida (Milan), Julio Cesar (Inter)
OBRANA: Cafu (Milan), Cicinho (Sao Paulo), Roberto Carlos (Real M.), Gilberto (Hertha), Alex Rodrigo (PSV Eindhoven), Luisao (Benfica), Juan (Bayer L.), Lucio (Bayern)
VEZA: Renato (Sevilla), Emerson (Juventus), Gilberto Silva (Arsenal), Juninho Pernambucano (Lyon), Ze Roberto (Bayern), Kaka (Milan), Julio Baptista (Real M.), Ricardinho (Santos)
VEZA: Robinho (Santos), Ronaldo (Real M.), Ricardo Oliveira (Betis), Adriano (Inter)
Shame its not in Zagreb, but it should be good…I’ll be there.

.. and the price of the tickets for the Brazil friendly is an absolute disgrace. Even though the promoters dropped the price by 10% (owing to anger from the fans) you were looking at a minimum of 600 kuna a decent ticket - for a friendly in which 11 substitutes can be (and often are) used. I´m watching the game on TV with lots of beer and pizza (or even champagne and caviar with the money I saved).

there top of World cup group 8 with Sweden to play at home and Hungary to play away so its a bit strange that their domestic sides are doing so bad.

The national team rely on a few key players, and as we know they all play abroad.
Croatia were very lucky in Sweden, whereas in Bulgaria they were excellent, I think Sweden at home is going to be a very tough evening, hopefully Butina has a good night.
