Allegedly John Malkovich is touring the Croatian coastline by boat looking at different areas in which to buy a house. Just wondered if anyone knows what sort of boat he's in or owns?

So are you saying that a big british & american magazine got it wrong when they said he had bought property? www.internationalliving.com/croatia/free/eletters_205.cfmPopular British publications and travel shows like A Place in the Sun, The Telegraph and The Guardian have done features on Croatia…and helped spark a surge of interest. Even Steven Spielberg is said to have recently holidayed here, ;Dand the American actor John Malkovich has bought an impressive villa. Unlike France and Spain, which allowed their coastlines to be overbuilt quickly without forethought or planning, Croatia is doing it differently. You won't ever see vulgar '70s high-rise buildings or modern condominiums smear this unspoiled coastline. When foreigners fled to the French Riviera in the '70s, it quickly became polluted.

Karl's right, a week back in Slobodna they covered his jaunt and problems. I think he's got Croatian blood from his mother's side, if I read it right, his family name they were tracing to Serbia? www.hiberno-knin.com

The arboretum in Trsteno is not a part of the big villa. I thought Malkovich already bought that villa, but I'm not sure.

dont worry. if its for sale , it will be sold before any of us know that its on the market. dont you know this already? corrupt politicians have their tenticles all over the place. thinking up and developing schemes that most people cant have imagined in a million years.

He was very interested and visited twice one in Milna, but the problem was not alone the price (almost 1mill) but also that the place is a joke, it was a classic old villa that is owned by two different family members who have literally divided it in half and created two totally adverse properties (including removing the grand old central door to make 2 new ones). Valiant, if the government got the right money they'd sell Istria to Germany (large parts already have been) and rent Dubrovnik to the highest bidder (probably 99 years as by then it'll probably be back under the Turkish Empire )

Jezus. Croatia eh. In the place I live there is 1400 year old rampart fortification. Historic. Falling down. They can't rebuild it until they get permission from the toss-pot who has owned it for generations. Who doesn't even live in the country. I'm tempted to get a trowel and shovel & cement and do it one night. They'd lock me up. Anyone join me. Fancy getting on HRT TV or in jail?
